L'Event #49 $1,500 Ante-Only NLHE qui débute ce midi à Las Vegas introduit une toute nouvelle variante dans les World Series of Poker.
Tout le monde ou presque présent au Rio Hotel & Casino sait jouer au 'No-Limit Hold'em' mais lorsqu'on leur souffle 'Ante-Only', ce mot provoque des regards interrogateurs et beaucoup des inscrits du jour espèrent en apprendre les règle sur le tas !
"Inventé" ces dernières années, le format "ante-only" se joue comme un tournoi normal mais avec un élément nouveau : ni small blind ni big blind, seulement des antes. Chaque joueur à table posera ainsi un ante au début de chaque main, lesquels augmenteront avec les niveaux successifs.
Les mises préflop et postflop commencent avec le joueur à gauche du bouton, qui tourne comme dans un tournoi régulier. Le premier joueur à parler à ainsi deux options : fold ou miser avec le plus petit jeton disponible (comme le "bring-in" en limit). Si des jetons de 25 sont encore en jeu il est ainsi possible de miser 25 même si l'ante est de 75, ces jetons étant disponibles jusqu'au niveau 6. A l'inverse, il n'y a aucun mise "maximum", le tournoi restant un No Limit.
Malgré l'inexpérience de nombreux participants, beaucoup ont prévu de s'y inscrire et ce tournoi pourrait établir un nouveau record pour ce format.
