Srinivas Balasubramanian Eliminated in 9th Place ($11,093)

Niveau 32 : 200,000/400,000, 0 ante
Srinivas Balasubramanian
Srinivas Balasubramanian

Srinivas Balasubramanian came back with a huge lead but the final day turned out to be a nightmare for him. After doubling three of his opponents, Balasubramanian fell to a short stack and his tally was over shortly afterwards.

Balasubramanian's farewell started with Kevin Nomberto limping in the middle position. Sandeep Pulusani potted in the cutoff and Michael Mizrachi tanked for about a minute in the small blind. Mizrachi eventually folded but Balasubramanian jammed out of the big blind, putting in his 2.8 million or so. Nomberto folded right away and Pulusani called.

Balasubramanian turned up {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} while Pulusani showed {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Nobody connected to the board of {4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Pulusani won the hand with ace-king high to eliminate Balasubramanian in ninth place for a $11,093 payday.

James Sievers
James Sievers

Srinivas Balasubramanian was in the cutoff, potting against a dead big blind as Tim Andrew hasn't arrived yet.

James Sievers repotted on the button and Balasubramanian raised all in to make things official, although both players knew they were going to the preflop showdown.

Balasubramanian: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Sievers: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

Sievers was ahead and the {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} board confirmed his double as he finished with two pair. The dealer counted his stack and Balasubramanian had to concede 4,850,000.

Kevin Nomberto
Kevin Nomberto

Kevin Nomberto raised to 800,000 from middle position, Michael Mizrachi called from the button and Srinivas Balasubramanian called from the small blind.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Balasubramanian checked to Nomberto who bet the pot of 2,800,000. Mizrachi folded, Balasubramanian called and the {2-Spades} turn fell.

Balasubramanian led out for effectively 2,700,000 and Nomberto called after a few moments with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}, trailing Balasubramanian's {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Nomberto was well behind, but the {Q-Clubs} landed on the river to give Nomberto queens full of deuces to double up and take the chip lead.

Pulusani Check-Shoves the Turn

Niveau 32 : 200,000/400,000, 0 ante

Under the gun, Pete Arroyos limped and Kevin Nomberto overlimped on the button. Small blind Raymond Walton came along and Sandeep Pulusani checked his big.

All players checked the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop and the {5-Hearts} turn brought a flush. The action was checked to Nomberto who fired 700,000. Walton let his hand go but Pulusani paused, counted all his chips and then moved all in. Two quick laydowns followed and Pulusani raked in the pot.

Balasubramanian Leads PLO GIANT Final Table; Mizrachi Seeking Fifth Bracelet

Srinivas Balasubramanian
Srinivas Balasubramanian

Welcome to PokerNews' Day 3 coverage of Event #11: $365 PLO GIANT Pot-Limit Omaha.

The starting field of 3,250 entries is down to just nine players, each looking to capture the first-place prize of $116,015 and a coveted World Series of Poker gold bracelet.

Leading the way is Srinivas Balasubramanian, holding nearly a quarter of the chips in play at the final table. Sitting fifth in chips, though, is Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi. Already with a bracelet this summer in the Poker Players Championship, there are few players as dangerous after accumulating a stack as Mizrachi is. Seeking his fifth bracelet, Mizrachi will no doubt be mixing it up early and often today.

Here are the official final table seating and chip counts:
