Backdoor Broadway for Morin

Niveau 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

A player in late position raised to 5,300 and Bob Morin moved all in for 19,000 from the hijack. It folded back to the original raiser who called, turning over {j-Spades}{10-Spades}, and Morin showed {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

The dealer fanned the {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop and Morin's opponent flopped a jack to take the lead. The {10-Hearts} hit the turn and Morin stood up, preparing to make his exit as his opponent improved to top two pair.

The {q-Spades} completed the board and the table erupted as Morin went runner-runner to make the Broadway straight and stay alive.

Lightbourne Chipping Up

Niveau 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The under-the-gun player raised to 4,500 and Iaron Lightbourne reraised to 16,000. It folded back around to his opponent who made the call and they went heads up to the {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop.

The player checked and Lightbourne slid out a stack of 45,000 orange chips covering his opponent who had about 40,000 behind. The player thought it over for a bit before folding and Lightbourne took the pot, chipping up to over 300,000 in the process.

Leinenbach Vaults to the Top

Niveau 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jim Leinenbach
Jim Leinenbach

As we make our way through the sea of tables in the Amazon room we see Jim Leinenbach sitting behind a mountain of chips. Leinenbach was moved to a new table earlier with 60,000, then caught fire doubling up twice in a matter of minutes.

In the latest hand of his heater, three players saw a flop of {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Nick Schwarmann got his last 55,000 all in holding {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}. Unfortunately for Schwarmann, Leinenbach was holding {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

Two community cards later Schwarmann was eliminated and Leinbach vaulted to the top of the chip counts.

Shannon Cracks Aces to Score the Knockout

Niveau 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The player in the hijack position raised to 4,500 and Ben Shannon reraised to 11,000 from the cutoff. It folded back to the player in the hijack and he moved all in for 40,000. "I think you've got me but I have to call," said Shannon as he tossed in the chips turning over {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

Shannon's read was correct as his opponent showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. The {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop was no help to Shannon, but the {j-Spades} hit the turn. Shannon turned a set of jacks to take the lead and his opponent shook his head in dismay as he began to stand from his seat.

The {9-Spades} river improved Shannon to a full house to earn him the elimination. "That's the third time today I've cracked aces," Shannon said as he dragged in the pot and stacked his chips.
