Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen

Scotty Nguyen opened from early position to 6,500 and Andre Akkari called on the button. The pair of bracelet winners saw a monotone flop of {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Nguyen continued with 9,000 and Akkari called.

On the {2-Diamonds} turn, Nguyen check-called a bet of 14,000 to see the {2-Clubs} land on the river. Nguyen checked and faced a 35,500 bet from Akkari. Nguyen opted to fold and slid his hand into the muck.

De Weeze's Run Ended by Cowboys

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

As relayed to the PokerNews reporting team, the same player who had doubled through Nicolas De Weeze with aces only a short while ago opened from under the gun, the button called and De Weeze then putting in a three-bet from the blinds. The initial raiser opted to four-bet, De Weeze five-bet shoved for 140,000 and received a call.

De Weeze flipped up {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} but was in poor shape against his opponents {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}. The flop and turn of {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} left Weeze needing one of the jacks to save his tournament life, but the river came a {k-Diamonds} for a meaningless set of kings. With that, De Weeze became the latest player to bust as the Marathon crawls closer towards the money.

De Weeze Runs into Rockets

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

A player in early position open-shoved all in for 52,000. It got folded to Nicolas De Weeze on the button who called and the two hands were turned face-up. De Weeze revealed {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, well behind his opponent's {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}.

The flop of {2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} gave little chance of De Weeze catching up, but the turn was a {k-Clubs} granting him a few additional outs. The river bricked with the {9-Spades} and De Weeze counted out the chips he needed to fork over.
