Himes Knocked Out by Savage and Gundrum

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Trent Gundrum: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} / {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{A-Clubs}
Matt Savage: {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} / {4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Ryan Himes: {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} / {J-Spades}{10-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

Ryan Himes was all in for 23,500 on fourth street, facing off against Matt Savage and Trent Gundrum on a capped street.

Savage then fired on every following street, creating a juicy side pot. Gundrum kept calling until the river where he raised, earning a quick call from Savage.

Savage made a wheel while Himes tabled a flush. Himes wanted to muck his hand, walking away. The dealer turned his hole cards up to show that Himes made two pair on his final hand in the tournament.

Unstoppable Greenstein

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

Barry Greenstein has been rarely seen maneuvering a big stack but he's been hanging in there, winning pots when he really needs to.

Greenstein demonstrated it in a hand that initially saw him battle against two players: Tim Finne and Paul Sexton. Finne, however, gave up on sixth street.

Sexton was pulling the strings all the way until the river where Greenstein fired himself. Sexton called.

Barry Greenstein: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} / {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Paul Sexton: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Tim Finne: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs} - fold on sixth

Greenstein turned up a pair of sevens in the showdown, in addition to his seven-low. Sexton grabbed his cards, raised them in the air and shuffled to sort them in whichever order was the best for him. Nonetheless, he couldn't find anything that would beat Greenstein who took down the full pot.

James Woods

James Woods: {Q-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Spades} / {2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Shirley Rosario: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Tom McCormick: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {K-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

"I have a queen-high flush and an eight-low!" James Woods said in a victorious tone when he got two calls on the river, from Tom McCormick and Shirley Rosario.

The pot was large as all players were in for one bet on each of the three previous streets. Woods was the one who fired on fourth and sixth.

The end result was that McCormick and Rosario both looked at Woods' strong two-way hand and almost simultaneously mucked.

Bohlman Scoops Two Sets

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Scott Bohlman: {x-}{x-} / {6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{q-Diamonds} / {x-}
Alan Myerson: {x-}{x-} / {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Spades} / {x-}
Joel Tushnet: {x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} / {x-}

Alan Myerson held the betting lead through the entire way with his pair of aces showing. He continued to bet into his two opponents, Scott Bohlman and Joel Tushnet, who continued to call.

On seventh, Myerson slowed down and checked. Bohlman looked down at his holding and slid in a bet, which Tushnet and Myerson both called. Bohlman rolled over {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for a straight which appeared to be good for at least half of the pot. Tushnet showed {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} in the hole for trip eights and Myerson had an ace in the hold for trip aces. Nobody held a low hand and Bohlman scooped the entire pot.

Batow Can't Chop Against Ace-High

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Tim Finne: {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} / {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Timothy Batow: {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{J-Spades} / {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Tim Finne completed and Timothy Batow called. Batow bet on fourth and sixth while Finne made a bet on fifth. They checked the river.

"I only got a low," Batow said, showing his seven-six. Finne failed to make a pair as well but his ace-high was good not onyl for the high half of the pot but for the low as well. He had seven-six-four, beating Batow's seven-six-five.

Batow studied Finne's hand for a moment to make sure he was scooped and then conceded the pot.

Sotiropoulos slowed down and checked the river and Sievers fired himself. Sotiropoulos called but heard the bad news.

"I have a flush and a low," Sievers said, rolling over three hearts for an ace-high flush. He also made an eight-low and Sotiropoulos ended up scooped.
