Martin Gets Heaps of Value from McCormick

Niveau 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

"Couldn't make a straight," Tom McCormick said. While he'd been able to grind his way back to 430,000 or so, he lost it almost all in a contest against Jesse Martin.

Martin completed with a three in the door and then three-bet over McCormick's raise. McCormick called and called more bets on every single street including the river.

Martin value-towned McCormick with trip threes and McCormick was second with his nines up and a busted open-ended straight draw.

Tom McCormick: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} / {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Jesse Martin: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{J-Hearts} / {3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

James Nelson Eliminated in 6th Place ($27,321)

Niveau 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
James Nelson
James Nelson

Benjamin Dobson completed with the {7-Spades}, Richard Monroe raised with the {4-Diamonds} and James Nelson cold-called with the {2-Clubs}.

Dobson continued and then caught good with the {a-Spades}, so he bet and got two calls. Everything went crazy on fifth street, though, as Monroe paired nines and bet, Nelson raised, Dobson called, Monroe reraised and Nelson shoved for slightly less than a full bet. Dobson called and then picked up another low card so he fired sixth.

Dobson: {x-}{x-}/{7-Spades}{a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Monroe: {x-}{x-}/{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Nelson: {x-}{x-}/{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{4-Clubs}

Monroe called and then called a final bet on the end. Dobson showed {q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for queens and a seven-low. Monroe had {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{2-Spades} for kings up.

"I'm out," Nelson declared, tabling {j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} for an inferior low and a pair of jacks.

McCormick On the Skids

Niveau 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Tom McCormick entered a few pots since the players came back from the break but he found no success and dropped to 250,000, equaling three big bets.

His latest loss came when James Nelson completed and McCormick called with a trey out. He paired his three right away and called another bet but folded on fifth street where Nelson fired another barrel.

Tom McCormick: {X-}{X-} / {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} - fold
James Nelson: {X-}{X-} / {J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{K-Clubs}

Chip Counts on Dinner Break

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Georgios Sotiropoulos Eliminated in 7th Place ($20,248)

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante
Georgios Sotiropoulos
Georgios Sotiropoulos

Georgios Sotiropoulos completed and called two bets from Richard Monroe on his left. Sotiropoulos was the one catching the better board as he paired sixes, so he bet the next three streets.

Sotiropoulos: {x-}{x-}/{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Monroe: {x-}{x-}/{6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Monroe raised on sixth, though, and Sotiropoulos only had 71,000 back. He slid in two towers of T1,000 chips to call, then called off the rest on the end.

"Straight and a low," Monroe said.

It was immediately clear that was a scooper as Sotiropoulos shook his head and then peeked at his holding again before revealing {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for queens up. Monroe showed his {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and scooped the pot. Sotiropoulos wished everyone good luck.

Dobson Scoops Martin

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Lots of action happened on the first round as Tom McCormick had a complete bet in front of him with the {4-Clubs} but was up against raises by Benjamin Dobson with the {8-Clubs} and Jesse Martin with the {k-Hearts}. That convinced McCormick to muck and it went heads up the rest of the way. Martin bet fourth but ceded the lead on fifth and sixth when Dobson picked up low cards.

Martin: {x-}{x-}/{k-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}/{x-}
Dobson: {x-}{x-}/{8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}/{x-}

Both checked on seventh, with Dobson simply opening {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Martin mucked and Dobson scooped the sizable pot.

Nelson Times Two Again

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

James Nelson: {10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} / {2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{Q-Hearts} / {A-Diamonds}
Tom McCormick: {A-}{7-} / {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} / {4-}

James Nelson and Tom McCormick were on fifth street with a few bets from previous streets already lying in front them. Nelson bet and McCormick paused.

"You rolled up deuces?" he asked.

Nelson didn't answer and McCormick called.

McCormick's board double paired on sixth and Nelson moved all in for last 13,000. McCormick called, saying, "That's all I have."

But Nelson was ahead against the open nines and fives, turning up tens and deuces.

McCormick peeled a blank four on the river and Nelson locked up another dub.

Monroe Scoops on Fifth

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Four players saw fourth for the minimum but the field was quickly thinned when Georgios Sotiropoulos bet with a pair of sevens and Richard Monroe raised. Sotiropoulos called but Monroe picked up open aces.

Sotiropoulos: {x-}{x-}/{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Monroe: {x-}{x-}/{a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{a-Hearts}

Facing another bet, Sotiropoulos winced and mucked his hand.
