Two Big Stacks Collide

The board read {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades} and action checked to Uri Reichenstein in the cutoff who bet 38,000 into a pot around 42,000. Filippos Stavrakis made the call from the big blind spot.

The river came the {9-Spades} and Stavrakis checked to Reichenstein who bet 85,000. Stavrakis thought for a moment and then check-raised to 210,000. Reichenstein thought for several moments and then eventually made the call.

Stavrakis tabled {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for the nuts and Reichenstein said, "Good Hand" as he mucked his cards. Stavrakis now has a commanding chip lead as the tournament gets deep into Day 2.

Thomas Doubles Up

Niveau 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Jean-Marc Thomas had just 10,000 left and he pushed all-in. When the action got to Ryan Goindoo he potted, but before the dealer told Goindoo how much the rest of the players had already folded.

Thomas was holding {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades} and kept repeating "black cards, black cards" since he had to win against {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}.

It was as if the dealer had listened to Thomas as he instantly gave him the flush spreading out the {2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} flop. The turn and river were the {9-Spades} and {10-Diamonds} and Thomas doubles up to 24,500

Semin Doubles Up Through Shorr

Mikhail Semin

Mikhail Semin was pretty short when he raised under the gun to 10,500. Shannon Shorr called from the big blind and the two saw a flop.

The flop was {2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Shorr bet all-in, which was enough to make Semin put his last 11,000 in the pot.

Shannon Shorr: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Mikhail Semin: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The dealer put down the {10-Spades} and {9-Hearts} and Semin stood up thinking he was eliminated, but the pot went his way, leaving Shorr with less than ten big blinds.
