Guo Scoops Friedman

Niveau 8
Perry Friedman
Perry Friedman

Omaha Hi-Lo

Richard Ashby raised from under the gun and was called three ways by Perry Friedman in the cutoff, Andrew Kelsall in the small blind and Yuebin Guo in the big blind. The flop of {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds} was checked to Ashby and he bet, Friedman raised and Kelsall folded, Guo called and Ashby came along.

The {K-Hearts} on the turn was checked through and Guo bet the {8-Clubs} river, forcing a fold from Ashby. Friedman called, but mucked when Guo turned over his {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for aces and eights, as well as the nut low.

Alexander Gets There Against Vitch

Niveau 8

Limit Hold'em

Not long ago, George Alexander was all in and at risk in a three-way showdown in a Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo hand but escaped to take the low portion of the pot. Just now, he was involved in a battle of the blinds with Christopher Vitch and the latter bet each street of a Hold'em hand on the board of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

Alexander only had 6,000 behind after calling on the river and Vitch showed the {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a flush with the nine. Alexander had that beat with {J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for the higher flush and chipped up. "Wow, what a run out," another player at the table remarked.

Negreanu Loses Two in a Row

Limit Hold'em

Iraj Parvizi raised and called a three-bet by Daniel Negreanu before check-calling the {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop and the {7-Hearts} turn. On the {5-Spades} river, Parvizi checked and subsequently raised against a third barrel by Negreanu. The Canadian called and Parvizi showed {7-Spades}{5-Clubs} for two pair to win the pot.

Shortly after, Dan Shak and Negreanu got involved in a hand to the {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop. Shak bet, Negreanu raised and Shak called. Shak then bet the {5-Diamonds} turn and {5-Spades} river with Negreanu calling both streets to get shown {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} as the winning hand for Shak.

Three-time WSOP bracelet winner Michael Gathy moved up to 55,000 after a hand in Razz. Gathy called on a bet on all streets and turned over {4-}{a-}{8-} for a nine-eight, which was enough to win the pot as his opponent's hand got quickly mucked by the dealer.

Miaso and Kassela Chop the Low

Niveau 7

Omaha Hi-Lo

After one player had limped in, Kyle Miaso raised in the cutoff and was called by Frank Kassela on the button, Phillip Wallace in the big blind and the limper. The flop fell {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Wallace checked, the limper sent his cards into the muck and Miaso was confused for a second.

"What just happened?" Kassela asked and Miaso replied "The complete opposite of what I expected."

Miaso then bet, Kassela and Wallace called. On the {2-Hearts} turn, Wallace checked and Miaso bet once more, his two opponents called. The {9-Spades} river was checked and Wallace showed the {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a straight and a low. Miaso had {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for the better low, and Kassela showed {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} for the same low to chop that portion of the pot.

Taylor and Treccarichi in Trouble

Niveau 7

Limit Hold'em

Esther Taylor raised from the cutoff and Andrew Barber on the button made it three bets, Taylor called. On a flop of {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Taylor checked and Barber's bet did the trick to force a fold. Taylor was left with very few chips behind, while Walter Treccarichi has even fewer than that.

Treccarichi just escaped from elimination when getting it in with {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} versus {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{4-Spades} in an Omaha Hi-Lo hand, and the board came {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} to ensure the runner-runner split pot.

Chris Tryba was eliminated and several other updated chip counts can be found below.

Negreanu Chips Up Further

Niveau 7

Razz

Daniel Negreanu: {X-} {X-} / {7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}
Dan Shak: {X-} {X-} / {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades} (folded on fifth street)

In a three-way Razz hand, Daniel Negreanu bet fourth street and picked up two callers including Dan Shak before also betting fifth street with a seven-four-trey showing. A quick fold was followed by Shak's brief consideration and he came to the same result, open-mucking {6-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a pair of fives.

"You made a good fold, you could have been drawing dead already," Negreanu said and claimed the pot. After his deep run and third place finish in Event #22: $1,500 Eight Game Mix, the Canadian seems to determined to fight for another bracelet.

Josephy Below Starting Stack

Niveau 7

Omaha Hi-Lo

Cliff Josephy was involved in a three-bet pot on a flop of {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Spades} and bet, picking up a call, with the {7-Spades} turn and the {9-Clubs} river bringing a bet and a call once more. Josephy rolled over the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}, but it was no good against the {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} of his opponent, who had the ten-high straight to scoop the pot and send Josephy below the starting stack.

Further assorted stacks can be found below. Mike Sexton, who was left short in the last break and left the tournament area with a "can't win a pot," has since been running out of chips.
