WSOP 2021 | JEFF PLATT GOING FOR GOLD! | Update Day 27

Yesterday two more players became WSOP champions, while five other events made major strides towards awarding their winners. Japanese grinder Kazuki "hyahhoo3" Ikeuchi was the first bracelet winner in the WSOP.com Online Bracelet $1,000 Championship Event. Meanwhile Chad Norton won Event #46: $800 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack for his first ever live WSOP event. Moving on to today, Sam Soverel ended Day 1 of Event #49: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship as chip leader. Play resumes at 2:00 p.m. today and is due to play down to 5. Michael Wang is now the man to catch in Event #43: $1,000 DOUBLE STACK No-Limit Hold'em where only 17 remain. Jeff Platt would be a popular champion, despite a successful career on the felt he is best known for his commentary role with PokerGO and co-host of our very own PokerNews podcast. Play resumed at 12p.m. today & will play down to 5. Only five players remain in Event #45: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed Championship and it is Tommy Le who leads them back into battle at 4:00 p.m. 82 players returned for day 2 of Event #47: $5,000 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed, and only five of them have chips in overnight bags. Frenchman Alexandre Reard is chip leader. Day 3 will be streamed on PokerGO, while PokerNews will join them from 3:00 p.m to update you as the tournament progresses. And finally, Event #48: $1,500 SHOOTOUT No-Limit Hold'em drew in 800 entrants with exactly 80 making it through today. 80 ten-handed tables played out until one player from each table remained. Day 2 will see ten eight-handed tables follow a similar format. Play recommences at 12:00 p.m. today and continues until 10 remain. Today two more events will be added to the schedule today. At 11a.m. $600 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack 8-Handed began, while later at 3pm we’ll see the $3,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em kick off.
