Olson Chips down

Niveau 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

William Romaine raised and Ryan Olson made the call from the button. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades} and both players checked.

On the turn {10-Diamonds}, Olson bet and faced a three-bet from Romaine. Olson eventually called and checked on the river{a-Clubs}. Romaine made a bet and after a tank, he ended up calling with {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Romaine showed {k-Spades}{10-Clubs} for the winning hand and earned the pot.

Jett Takes Off After the Break

Niveau 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Following the post-bubble break, some of the shorter stacked players have been able to play more freely with the guaranteed money payout, which has resulted in some quick exits.

One of the most recent players to depart is Chip Jett. The Amercian came into play today with an above average chip count of 36,000 but could only last the first four levels after Jonathan Tamayo was the man to seal his departure.

Jett takes away $2,246 after he secured his 34th career WSOP cash today.

Goatz Busts But Splits the Money

Niveau 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Phil Goatz
Phil Goatz

In the first round of hand-for-hand, there were two all-ins and calls, as Phil Goatz exited, but split the money.

Goatz had all his chips in the middle with pocket kings on a {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{2-Spades} board and was called by his opponent who held {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.
The turn {2-Diamonds} and river {6-Diamonds} was no help for Goatz who exited the event.

But there was some luck for Goatz as at the same time, another player on a different table was all in with {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} on a queen-high board only to see his opponent call with pocket queens, which ended in another elimination.

As the two eliminations happened in the same hand on different tables, Goatz and the other eliminated player chop the 90th place prize of $2,246, for $1,123 each.

Sitar Puts Pressure Before the Money

Niveau 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

On a board showing {9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, Justin Sitar bet and Sergei Tolkachov made the call. The river brought the {5-Diamonds} and Sitar sent another bet. Tolkachov ended up folding his hand.

Sitar now has an astonishing stack worth 185,000 with two places to go before the bubble.

Lau Doubles Up

Niveau 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Michael Lau, short stack, made a bet and Jan Suchanek three-bet from the button. Lau made the call with a stack worth 6,800 total and the players tabled their cards:

Michael Lau: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Jan Suchanek: {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Lau had the dominated hand and the board gave him the double up before the bubble.
