Ko Forces Fold from Sinishtaj

Niveau 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

On the heads-up turn of {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Gjergj Sinishtaj led for 8,500 out of the small blind and Yuki Ko raised it up to 26,700 from early position. Sinishtaj gave it some thought and called with around 50,000 behind to check the {Q-Clubs} on the river. Now it was on Ko to make up his mind for a minute and he announced a pot-sized bet of 80,200.

That was enough to force a fold from Sinishtaj, and Ko recovered some chips.

Tollerene Takes From Varnell

Niveau 5 : 400/800, 0 ante
Ben Tollerene
Ben Tollerene

Craig Varnell raised to 2,400 from under the gun and Ben Tollerene, who was next to act, three-bet to 8,400. Action folded back around to Varnell and he called.

The two players saw a flop of {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and they both checked.

The {A-Hearts} fell on the turn and Varnell checked. Tollerene bet 15,000 and Varnell called.

The river brought the {4-Hearts} and Varnell checked. Tollerene bet again, 45,000 this time, sending Varnell into the tank. He cut out calling chips and moved them into the middle after about half a minute. Tollerene tabled {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for top two pair, Varnell mucked, and Tollerene took the pot to put his stack over the 300,000-chip mark.

MacIntyre Chips Up Again

Niveau 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

There were 15,200 chips in the pot and the board read {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} when we got to the table. Fraser MacIntyre had committed 10,500 from the hijack and was facing a decision from the player on the button for a total of 46,700. MacIntyre called.

The {J-Diamonds} fell on the river and MacIntyre tossed out a bet of 51,000, putting his opponent to a decision for the remainder of his stack. He had what looked like 26,400 behind and went into the tank for several minutes. Eventually, the clock was called and he was given 30 seconds to act. He still hadn't acted after the seconds had ticked all the way down so his hand was declared dead and the dealer pushed the pot MacIntyre's way.

Mercier Busts on First Bullet

Jason Mercier

Two short stacks clashed and it was Jason Mercier that ended up all in and at risk against Edward Hatzakortzian.

Jason Mercier: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Edward Hatzakortzian: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

The {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop was a sweat for Mercier with the open-ended straight draw, however, the {A-Hearts} turn and {A-Clubs} river both bricked off. "Chop it up?" Mercier joked and promised to be back soon for the second bullet.

Tran Fires The Turn

Niveau 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

JC Tran raised to 1,600 from early position, Jesper Hougaard called from the cutoff, Junayed Kahn called from the small blind, and the big blind called, as well.

The flop came {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Kahn checked. The big blind bet 3,200, Tran called, Hougaard folded, and Kahn called.

The {4-Diamonds} hit the turn and action checked to Tran. He bet 9,500, both of his opponents folded, and he took the pot.

Alioa Takes From Lamb; Mizrachi and Calderaro Join

Niveau 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

Brian Alioa and Michael Mizrachi limped in and Ben Lamb in the cutoff made it 4,400 to go, which both opponents called. The flop came {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and action checked to Lamb, who bet 6,100. Only Alioa called to see the {2-Diamonds} on the turn and Alioa bet 9,700, Lamb called. On the {5-Spades} river, Alioa bet 13,000 and Lamb sent his cards into the muck.

Defending champion James Calderaro has also been spotted in the field and sat down very recently.

Kozlov Takes From Stein

Niveau 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

Joining the action on the heads-up turn of {A-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}, Sam Stein checked out of the big blind and Martin Kozlov bet 8,400 on the button. Stein called and checked again the {J-Hearts} on the river. Kozlov repeated his very bet size, making it 8,400 to go once more, and Stein tossed in two T-5,000 chips for the call.

Kozlov rolled over the {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Spades} for a rivered set of jacks and Stein sighed, mucked with the words "two outs, spades no good, deuce no good." Both stacks are near even after the hand, and the table also features Tobias Ziegler and Richard Tuhrim after it had recently opened to balance the growing field.
