Sontheimer and Marchese Double Up

Niveau 15 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Jake Schindler opened from the cutoff and Steffen Sontheimer pushed all in for 380,000 on the button. Schindler called and it was a flip with Sontheimer at risk. Schindler tabled {k-Spades}{10-Spades} while Sontheimer had a small pair with {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The board ran out {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Sontheimer's pocket fours held on for a double up.

At the other table, Jason Mercier raised to 105,000 from under the gun and Elio Fox called on the button. Tom Marchese shoved all in for 600,000 and Mercier folded. Fox made the call but found out he was trailing Marchese's {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} with {j-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Marchese took a commanding lead on the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop but Fox picked up some outs when the {8-Diamonds} hit the turn. The river was the {k-Diamonds} and Marchese held on to score a full double up.

Volpe Goes for It All

Niveau 15 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

On a board reading {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, the action was on Paul Volpe who was facing a bet of 525,000 from Jake Schindler. There was already over 800,000 in the middle and Volpe shoved all in, putting Schindler at risk for his tournament life should he call.

Schindler used up his remaining four time extensions before the clock finally ran out and he was forced to send his cards to the muck. Volpe raked in the pot to climb over the 4,000,000 chip mark.

Johannes Becker

Ryan Riess open-raised to 300,000, leaving himself just 25,000 behind. Elio Fox min-raised to 550,000 on the button, and Johannes Becker moved all in for 1,500,000 from the big blind. Riess threw in his last chip and Fox called to put two players at risk.

Ryan Riess: {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Johannes Becker: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Elio Fox: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} giving no help to Becker and sending him to the rail. Riess spiked an ace to triple up, while Fox's stack gained a small boost.

Ryan Riess opened to 90,000 from early position and Tom Marchese three-bet jammed all in for 365,000 on the button. The action folded back to Riess who made the call and the cards were tabled.

Tom Marchese: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Ryan Riess: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Marchese earned himself a double up.

Just a couple of hands later, Riess called a turn and river bet from Bryn Kenney who turned over trip fours. A disappointed Riess sent his cards to the muck and is now sitting around 300,000 chips.

"You do this to me every time on the button," said Katz, who showed {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

Davies Eliminated; Volpe Triples Up

Niveau 14 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Seth Davies
Seth Davies

Paul Volpe opened to 90,000 and Michael Rosenfeld flat-called. Seth Davies three-bet to 290,000 from the button and Volpe moved all in for 980,000. Rosenfeld called and Davies then decided to move all in for 1,240,000.

Volpe then prematurely exposed his hand, but hurriedly covered it up when he realised that Rosenfeld still had a decision, albeit a straightforward one. Rosenfeld did call, and all hands were exposed properly.

Paul Volpe: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Seth Davies: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Michael Rosenfeld: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Volpe was in good shape to triple up, and Rosenfeld looked poised to be left with only a couple of hundred thousand chips.

However, the cased ace appeared on the {9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop and the {5-Hearts}{k-Hearts} run out failed to improve Davies who was eliminated.
