Juan Vecino Eliminated in 17th Place ($10,614)

Niveau 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Juan Vecino
Juan Vecino

Ranno Sootla has been up near the top for much of this tournament and there are no signs that he plans to slow down any time soon. He just eliminated Juan Vecino in a hand that played out across all three streets and took another bounty to add to his already impressive collection.

Sootla opened the betting to 45,000 and only Vecino called, playing off the button. The flop came {10-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Sootla continued for 75,000, which Vecino called.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and Sootla barrelled, making it 195,000. Once again Vecino called. The {6-Spades} river completed the board and Sootla set Vecino all in (he had 375,000 left). After tanking for a minute, Vecino made the call with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} against Sootla's {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} and he had to make his way to the payout desk. Sootla, meanwhile, is pulling ahead from the rest of the field.

Jamie O'Connor Eliminated in 18th Place ($10,614)

Niveau 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Jamie O'Connor
Jamie O'Connor

Jamie O'Connor managed to win a couple of double-ups before this hand.

O'Connor moved all in for 120,000 from the button and Mikhail Semin called him from the small blind. O'Connor tabled {a-}{2-} and Semin showed {k-}{q-}.

The board ran out dry for O'Connor up until the river which landed a king. Semin's pair of kings on the river was good for the pot and eliminated O'Connor from the tournament.

Ryne Capra Eliminated in 19th Place ($8,541)

Niveau 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Ryne Capra
Ryne Capra

Ryne Capra had been nursing a short stack for a while and had managed to steal the blinds a couple of times in the last orbit.

Just now he opened from middle position and Mark Mazza defended from the big blind.

They were heads up to the flop and it came {4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Mazza checked and Capra continued for 50,000. Mazza then reraised enough to put his opponent all in and Capra made the call.

Mark Mazza: {4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Ryne Capra: {6-Spades}{5-Spades}

Capra saw that he'd been outflopped and got out of his seat. The {10-Clubs} turn kept Mazza in front, as did the {j-Hearts} river. The remaining players have made it to the final two tables.

Peterson Leaves O'Connor with Crumbs

Niveau 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jamie O'Connor just lost a good portion of his stack in the previous hand.

The board read {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. Both O'Connor and Richard Peterson had all their chips in the middle, with Peterson at risk.

O'Connor tabled {k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} for top pair and Peterson showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} for a pair of aces. The turn came the {j-Hearts} and the river the {2-Diamonds}. Peterson's aces held on for the pot and left O'Connor with under two big blinds.

Limpscomb on the Up

Niveau 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Sterling Lipscomb
Sterling Lipscomb

Ryan Leng opted to limp from under the gun and Christian Nolte raised it up. Sterling Lipscomb called behind on the button and Leng made up the difference, taking three of them to the flop.

It came down {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Leng checked. Nolte continued for 105,000 and Lipscomb moved all in. This got folds from both his opponents and he is having a very promising start to the day, sitting on over one million now.

Peterson Boosts Up to Over 1 Million

Niveau 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Richard Peterson
Richard Peterson

Richard Peterson opened the betting from under the gun and Jamie O'Connor three-bet to 127,000 on the cutoff. Juan Vecino was sat in the small blind and flat-called and Peterson came along too.

The {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop saw checks from all three players. The {2-Spades} turn saw Vecino lead for 130,000. Peterson came along but O'Connor passed.

It was a {10-Clubs} river and both players checked. Peterson showed {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and was visibly delighted when Vecino mucked his hand and he scooped the pot.
