No Repeat Champion

Niveau 8 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante
Joe McKeehen earlier today
Joe McKeehen earlier today

Joe McKeehen arrived in the eighth level of the day and has busted within a very short time frame as he is already out the door. That means we are getting a new champion for this event and the chance of a repeat champion is out of question.

Vieira Stacking Chips

Niveau 8 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

Joao Vieira may just have lost a small pot but he's definitely stacking chips throughout the day. Vieira check-called a bet on a {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop and bet on the {6-Spades} turn. When Philip Cordano raised, he folded quickly.

Vieira still has over a lot of chips in front of him and is playing almost three times the starting stack.

Andre Akkari
Andre Akkari

Andre Akkari and Chris Vitch saw the {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop appear and Akkari check-called a bet from Vitch. They both checked on the {A-Hearts} turn and the {Q-Spades} was dealt to complete the board.

Akkari checked to Vitch again and he bet out. Akkari opted to fold and has just over 6 big bets left.

Henson Not Slowing Down

Ray Henson
Ray Henson

Tommy Rounds raised from the hijack and Ray Henson three-bet from the cutoff. It folded back to Henson who called and they went heads-up to the {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop.

Rounds check-called a bet from Henson and the dealer burned and turned the {j-Diamonds}. Again Rounds check-called a bet from Henson and the river was the {5-Clubs}. Rounds checked and Henson threw out another bet to get an instant fold from Rounds.

Henson added another pot to his mountain of chips and he's distanced himself well out in front of the field with about 290,000.

Eights are Enough for Song

Kevin Song
Kevin Song

JC Tran and Kevin Song went heads-up to the {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} and Tran check-called a bet from Song. The turn was the {2-Spades} and both players knuckled the felt. The river was the {3-Hearts} and Tran tossed out a bet.

Song called and Tran showed {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for middle pair but Song's {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} were enough to take the pot.

Zerwin Climbing

Niveau 7 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Jerid "JZ Scrilla" Zewin has been hovering around the 50,000 starting stack for much of the night but he has stayed patient. That patience is paying off and Zewin is starting to climb the chip counts. He recently raked in a few pots and he's chipped up to 80,000.

Zewin already notched one WSOP cash this series with a deep run in the $1,000 No Limit Hold'em - Double Stack (Event #34) and will look to add another WSOP cash to his poker resume here in the $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship.

Glantz In, Sinclair and Baker Out

Niveau 7 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
David "ODB" Baker
David "ODB" Baker

Jack Sinclair seems to have been eliminated as his chair is now empty. At the table he was seated, David "ODB" Baker raised to two bets from the button and Ashish Gupta made it three bets from the big blind. Baker called and they saw a flop.

The flop was {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and Gupta continued with a bet. Baker folded his hand and was left with 12,000.

Matt Glantz arrived at the table and took Sinclair's old seat, next to Ashish Gupta. A couple of hands later, Baker was also eliminated from the tournament, just like Sinclair.
