Boatman Loses Some

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

A player in early position opened to 250, Dan Heimiller called from the hijack, and Barny Boatman called from the cutoff.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and action checked to Boatman. He bet 400 and both players called.

The {6-Spades} fell on the turn and action checked to Boatman again. He bet 1,000, the preflop raiser called, and Heimiller folded.

The river brought the {3-Clubs} and both players checked. The preflop raiser showed {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{X-} and his hand was best, as Boatman held {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Engel's Boat is Best

Niveau 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

There were about 1,500 chips in the middle and the {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop was out when we got to the table. Action checked to Ari Engel on the button and he bet 1,125. A player in middle position called and the hijack folded.

The {K-Clubs} fell on the turn and the middle-position player check-called a bet of 2,100 from Engel.

The river brought the {Q-Diamonds} and both players checked. Engel showed {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for tens full to take the pot against his opponent's {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{9-}{5-}.

ODB Eliminates One After Filling a Wrap

Niveau 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
David "ODB" Baker (as seen in a previous event)
David "ODB" Baker (as seen in a previous event)

David "ODB" Baker raised to 400 in the second position and found three callers including a player in the big blind.

The big blind led out 1,800 when the {7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{J-Spades} flop landed and Baker was the only one to match the price.

The turn came {Q-Hearts} and Baker snap-called an all-in bet, quickly turning up {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a Broadway straight. His opponent wanted to muck as he observed that he was drawing dead, but he had to show his hand to comply with the all-in rule. He opened {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} for a flopped straight but the river card couldn't change his fate.

The knocked-out player left his seat while Baker is off to a great start, having almost quadrupled the starting stack already early in the third level.

Johnson Bricks His Draws

Niveau 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Following three limps, Marco Johnson made it 750 on the button and the two opponents to his right called.

Johnson's neighbor took the betting lead on the {3-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} flop, firing 1,250. Johnson potted for 6,375, covering almost all of his opponent's stack.

After a few minutes of tanking, a call was made and they stuffed in the remaining hundreds on the {J-Spades} turn. Johnson immediately opened {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} but his opponent was reluctant. The dealer eventually forced her to turn the cards up and it became apparent that Johnson stood against a set of queens with {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

The river was a {K-Spades} and Johnson missed his flush draw and Broadway draw and dropped to 1,000 or so.

Rabl Wins Three-Quarters

Niveau 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Eric Rabl was seen three-betting in the cutoff over a raise to 400 from the hijack. The player on Rabl's left cold-called the reraise and the blinds and hijack got out of the way.

Rabl continued firing on the {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, making it 2,400. His opponent moved all in for roughly 5,200 and Rabl called.

Both players had the nut low as Rabl turned up {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} while the other player exposed {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

The rest of the board ran out {J-Clubs} and {3-Diamonds} and Rabl won the high half with fives up.

Force's Trips Are Good

Niveau 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Leif Force raised to 400 from middle position and the player in the cutoff was the only caller.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} and both players checked. The {8-Diamonds} fell on the turn, Force bet 525, and his opponent called.

The river brought the {J-Clubs} and both players checked. Force tabled {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and his trip eights with an ace were good enough to win the pot.
