The players have bagged and headed home after Day 1 of Event #66: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em. The event cumulated 1,351 entries, generating a prize pool of $1,823,850, though only 227 players advanced to Day 2 with John Pannucci bagging the biggest stack with 235,400. Pannucci, with $33,797 in total live earnings, will be looking to make his first-ever WSOP cash of his career a memorable one.

However, first he will have to make the money, and with 227 players returning and only 203 set to make the money, some will be leaving empty-handed. With a min-cash worth $2,251, there is a decent chance the bubble will burst fast, but it is the $323,472 top prize as well as a prestigious gold bracelet that all will have their eye on.

Pannucci is followed in the counts by Akin Tuna (169,900), who, with $516,791 in total live earnings, will be a serious competitor on Day 2. It is 2016 November Niner Kenny Hallaert who completes the podium with a stack of 155,400. Hallaert will be looking to improve on his 7th place finish in this same event last year, where he cashed for $58,083.

Other notables coming into Day 2 include Kfir Nahum (151,400), Mark Radoja (54,000), Mikhail Semin (51,500), Matt Glantz (41,300), Victor Ramdin (23,500), Jimmy Guerrero (23,300), Richard Dubini (22,400) with Gaelle Baumann (14,900) and Dutch Boyd (11,800) as short stacks.

Many players and bracelets winners took a shot in this event after busting the Main Event but didn’t find a bag at the end of day such as: Daniel Negreanu, Tony Dunst, Allyn Shulman, Joe McKeehen, Max Silver, Todd Witteles, Jonathan Little, Bob Buckenmayer, Mike Watson, Olivier Busquet, Julien Martini and Kalidou Sow.

Play resumes Friday at 2pm with 10 more levels scheduled with a 15-minute break every two levels. There will be a dinner break after the sixth level (≈ 8:30 p.m.).
