Szecsi Eliminates Negreanu

Niveau 7 : 200/400, 50 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

After taking advantage of late registration, Daniel Negreanu has just played his last hand of the tournament. As Negreanu was leaving the table, he was kind enough to recount what happened.

Norbert Szecsi had opened and Negreanu had three-bet all in for 5,600, with everyone else moving aside, Szecsi made the call and they turned their cards on their backs.

Daniel Negreanu: {a-}{k-}
Norbert Szecsi: {k-}{q-}

With Negreanu the 3:1 favorite, they went heads up to the flop. It came king high, giving both players a pair of kings. The turn was a queen and the Szecsi moved into the lead and Negreanu only had three aces to hit. The river was the case king and it was trips for the six-times bracelet winner but a full house for Szecsi.

Deyra Out

Niveau 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

A first player opened and Ivan Deyra moved all in for his last 5,700. The action folded back to the initial player who made the call.

Holding {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, Deyra was in bad shape for a double up, facing {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} in his opponent's hand. The {5-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{a-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} run out gave his opponent two pair and Deyra made his way to the exit.

Liberto Eliminated by Reixach

Niveau 7 : 200/400, 50 ante
Justin Liberto (from a previous event)
Justin Liberto (from a previous event)

Play was on the flop and there were four players still in. The board had come down {4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and after two checks, Justin Liberto bet 2,000 into the pot. There was one fold and one call before Sergi Reixach raised it up to 8,000. Liberto went over him for around 10,000 all-in and with the other player passing, the two were heads up.

Sergi Reixach: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Justin Liberto: {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

It was top pair vs over cards and a flush draw, so the two players were essentially flipping, with Reixach the marginal favorite. The {k-Hearts} turn pushed Reixach way into the lead and the {k-Diamonds} river kept him there, sending Liberto to the rail.
