Trujillo Eliminates Strobel

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Craig Strobel pushed all in from under the gun for about 60,000 and Raymond Trujillo had him at risk from a couple of seats over with {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} when we arrived. Strobel had two overs with {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} but the {8-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} board danced around him and sent him to the rail.

Weis Builds Stack

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Julius Malzanini built some early profit and fellow countryman Oliver Weis followed right through in the Amazon Tan section. Hector Dominguez-Depaz three-bet all in with pocket nines and Weis snap-called with pocket jacks to deal the final blow.

Another player at the table asked "did you think for a second you could lose this one?"

Weis grinned and replied with a "not really." He bumped his stack to around 1.3 million, not far behind Malzanini.

Doubles for Gisler and Daciolas

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

With the bubble out of the way, a lot of all-in-and-calls take place over the course of the first level of the day. Jon Gisler was one of them, committing his 89,000 stack from under the gun. Action folded to Richard Lee in the big blind, who called instantly.

Jon Gisler: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Richard Lee: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The classic flip landed Gisler's way on a {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} rundown and he doubled up.

At another table, Kenneth Daciolas and William Lewandowski were all in with {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} and {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, respectively. The {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Spades} rundown left no uncertainty and Lewandowksi was left with fewer than two big blinds.

Frasca Busts to Xiong

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Brian Frasca was all in for a mere 36,000 in the cutoff and Wadoua Xiong on the button tossed in two T-25,000 chips. It was ruled as just a call and both players in the blinds sent their cards into the muck.

Brian Frasca: {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Wadoua Xiong: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The board came {J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and that was it for Frasca.

Mustapha Kanit
Mustapha Kanit

Arne Ruge opened to 12,000 from under the gun and picked up four callers including Mustapha Kanit on his left who just moved to the table. The flop came {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and the action checked to Kanit who bet 20,000. Steven Prentky was in middle position and shipped all in for 81,000. Once the action got back to Kanit, he quickly called.

Mustapha Kanit: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Steven Prentky: {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Kanit was ahead with his overpair and would stay ahead with the {7-Diamonds} and {6-Hearts} run out. Prentky was sent to the payout desk with a min-cash as just 1,000 players remain.

Grutka Scores Lucky Double Through Vieira

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

With more than 100,000 already in the middle and the flop showing {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}, Amauri Grutka bet 200,000 out of the small blind with 11,000 behind and that sent Joao Viera in the cutoff in the think tank. After more than three minutes, Vieira moved all in and Grutka called it off.

Amauri Grutka: {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Joao Vieira: {A-Spades}{2-Spades}

The {Q-Hearts} turn improved the Brazilian, and the {7-Clubs} on the river was a blank to let Grutka double and take a big chunk out of Vieira's stack.
