It was third time lucky for Gediminas "NeverGambol" Uselis after busting two buy-ins early in Event #76: $400 FORTY STACK No Limit Hold'em, but then running his third all the way through the 4,461 entry field to the bracelet. It's Uselis' first bracelet, and the $227,186 first place prize is more than 2/3rds of his previous live lifetime earnings.

This win marks Uselis' 4th cash in the 2020 GGPoker World Series of Poker Online, but his first final table. He also has 5 previous cashes at the live WSOP in 2018 and 2019, including his previous best score of $82K for 9th in last year's $888 No Limit Hold'em - Crazy Eights (Event #64).

Action of the Day

Action kicked off at 2 p.m. Eastern time, and players were eager for a chance. By the time registration closed, 4,461 entries swelled the prize pool to $1,677,336 and action was fast and furious.

It took just 2 hours to make it down to the money, but along the way GGPoker ambassadors Pete Chen, Felipe Ramos, Kitty Kuo, Sergey Rybachenko, Kosei Ichinose, Daniel Negreanu, and Michael Soyza all fell by the wayside before the money spots.

It didn't slow down any once the bubble burst. A couple hours later they were down to just 100 players left with players like Richard "Catch22s" Samson, Joel "Mintzy" Nystedt, Patrick "CocoTheDog" Mahoney, and Christopher Kruk exiting with cash in hand.

As they played down to the final three tables, Espen "COVFEFE-19" Jorstad, Gediminas "NeverGambol" Uselis, and Andy "PaxRomana" Wilson were starting to find their way up the stacks. With 22 left, Jorstad was second in chips, with Uselis close behind in third.

Wilson led the way into the final 16 and was still in front when the final table convened just after midnight eastern time. It didn't take long to eliminate six players from the table with Michelle "CallTheFloor" Roberts falling in seventh after a horrid kings into aces cooler, and Jorstad losing his stack with sixes into jacks for fifth place.

They played three handed for about 20 minutes before Yaniv "netasheli528" Bohadana fell in third, setting up a heads-up battle between Wilson and Uselis that lasted almost half an hour. Uselis started heads-up with the lead, but Wilson quickly took it back after Uselis fired three bullets with a busted flush draw and Wilson picked it off.

Uselis was far from done though. He fought back to even stacks, only to drop another big one, letting Wilson surge ahead again. It flipped back again on the very next hand though when Uselis spiked trips on the flop for a big double. Wilson couldn't pull out another comeback as he went down in second shortly after when he rivered a flush, only to run into the rivered quads for Uselis.

Both players in the heads-up scored big in this one. Wilson's $169K second place prize nearly equals his prior lifetime live earnings, while Uselis more than doubled his previous best live score.
