Santos Elimination
Santos Elimination

Tyler Rueger min-raised in the cutoff and Joao Santos jammed for just over 9 million in the big blind. Rueger was ready with a quick call holding {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and dominated the {a-Hearts}{2-Spades} of Santos.

The {j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts} brought quite a bit of equity for Santos as he picked up a gutter and could also survive if the board paired again. However, it was a {7-Spades} ending his tournament run.

Thomas Ward raised the button to 1.4 million and was called by Stoyan Madanzhiev, who came along from the big blind.

Both players checked the {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop and Madanzhiev then led the {8-Hearts} turn for 3.575 million, which Ward called.

On the {9-Clubs} river, Madanzhiev bet 10.725 million and Ward folded with fewer than that behind.

Satoshi Isomae Eliminated in 5th Place

It all started rather innocent with a cutoff raise to 1.54 million by Stoyan Madanzhiev and Satoshi Isomae then three-bet out of the small blind to 4,483,500, which Madanzhiev called.

They headed to the {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop on which Isomae continued for 11,605,800 into a pot of 10,092,000 and was called.

No betting action followed on the {7-Hearts} turn and Isomae then moved all in for 23,411,295 on the {6-Spades} river. Without using his allotted time bank, Madanzhiev called and Isomae tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a stone cold bluff.

Madanzhiev had flopped two pair with {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and earned the huge pot, sending Isomae out in 5th place for $949,937.

Even More Chips for Madanzhiev

Niveau 24 : 350,000/700,000, 85,000 ante

Stoyan Madanzhiev opened the action with a button raise to 1.75 million and Tyler Rueger three-bet to 5,004,500 in the small blind, which earned a call from Madanzhiev

The flop brought {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Rueger's continuation bet for 3,845,500 was called.

After the {2-Diamonds} turn, Rueger slowed down and checked. Madanzhiev used that opportunity to bet 9.8million and won the pot without resistance.

Down to the final three players, Wenling Gao opened the button to 1.4 million and Tyler Rueger then three-bet to 4.395 million in the big blind. Gao opted for a four-bet to 9.8 million and without using his time bank, Rueger pushed all in for the 48,697,202 he had behind.

Gao called within one second to create a pot of almost 98 million.

Tyler Rueger: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Wenling Gao: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

On a board of {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Rueger found no help and became the third-place finisher. That comes with a handsome payout of $1,928,887 and Gao will now enter heads-up against Stoyan Madanzhiev in which both players have more than 200 big blinds at their disposal.

Madanzhiev Gets Paid

Niveau 25 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

Stoyan Madanzhiev opened for a min-raise on the button and Wenling Gao called. Gao check-called a small bet of 960,000 on the {7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop. Both players checked the {j-Clubs}, bringing a {4-Diamonds}. Gao checked and Madanzhiev overbet with 7.2 million into about 5.3 million.

Gao looked him up with {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts} but it was no good as Madanzhiev paired up on the turn with {j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.
