Uke "ooopsmybad" Dauti raised to 100,000 under the gun and Tom "looter" Marchese three-bet to 350,000 from the small blind. Dauti popped it back and Marchese called off the 65,262 he had behind.

Marchese got it in good and was primed to double through both the flop and turn. However, the spiked on the river to give Dauti a set and end Marchese's run in 12th place.

Hughes Flops the Goods

Hughes check-raised Brindise's 131,250 continuation bet to 262,500 and Brindise three-bet to 393,750.

Hughes called and both players checked the turn to the river.

Hughes led out for 120,000 and Brindise snap-called only to muck his hand after seeing Hughes flopped the full house holding .

WSOP History: Looking Back at the November (and October) Nines

No stage in poker stood as a bigger goal for a tournament player than the final table of the WSOP Main Event. For years, that meant going to sleep knowing you had the chance of a lifetime, to go down in poker history in the next few days as the cameras captured your every bet, raise and fold.

All of that changed in 2008.

The year after Jerry Yang's Main Event victory was broadcast to all on ESPN's standard tape delay, organizers made a decision to try to increase the excitement and anticipation around the final table: after the final nine was reached, play would be paused. At that point, everyone left would go home with 9th-place money and the players would reconvene a few months later to play out the final table on a short tape delay.

That lasted until 2016, and this is the history of the November (and October) Nines.

"Duckmoney420" raised to 87,500 under the gun and Tammy "rynom" Brindise called from the small blind. Jeremy "TheKid101" Pekarek the reraised to 350,000 from the big and left himself just 9,080 behind. "Duckmoney420" called off for 300,084 total and Brindise called.

When the flop fell , Brindise bet 25,000 and Pekarek called off.
