Conner "uvaseca" Raisin: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Judith "jqbpk772" Bielan: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

WSOP Legend: Doyle Brunson's Final Bracelet, 15 Years Later

Niveau 8 : 120/240, 30 ante
Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson

At the beginning of the 2005 WSOP, Doyle Brunson remained the co-king of the all-time bracelet count, tied along with Johnny Chan at nine. However, as the series drew toward its close in late June, that was no longer the case — Chan had overtaken him by winning No. 10 to stand atop the mountain alone.

Brunson was already phasing out his tournament play, having cashed precisely zero times that summer and just three times in the previous two combined, although one had resulted in a bracelet victory.

When it came time for Event #31: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, Brunson dusted off his tournament chops and made a run.

For the a more thorough look on Brunson's historic 10th bracelet win, click the link below.

Robert "bjacks" Jackson Ships the Double

Niveau 8 : 120/240, 30 ante

"TrueSpectrum" limped from middle position and Robert "bjacks" Jackson raised to 480 next to act. Andrew "nutsplease14" Kerstine called from the button, "LegendsTX73" came along from the big blind, and "TrueSpectrum" called the additional 240 to see a {q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop.

Two checks saw Jackson bet 720, Kerstine called, and "LegendsTX73" check-raised to 2,955. Only Jackson called and the {a-Clubs} appeared on the turn.

"LegendsTX73" bet 6,000 and Jackson raised all in for 12,423. "LegendsTX73" thought for a bit before making the call only to discover they were drawing dead.

Robert "bjacks" Jackson: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
"LegendsTX73": {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Jackson had flopped a set and was pushed the pot after the {j-Diamonds} complete the board on the river.

"rickindestin" opened for 400 from middle position and was called by Brandon "BButler" Butler from the cutoff before Melisa "NJ_Melisa" Singh three-bet jammed for 3,085 from the small blind.

Both opponents called and the {q-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Clubs} board was checked down to the {6-Clubs} river where Butler jammed for 9,998 after "rickindestin" fired out 4,840, "rickindestin" folded.

Singh showed {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} for two-pair but it was no good as Butler rivered the full house {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} to win the pot and collect her bounty.

Big Open-Jam Pays Off for "Fishboy1969"

Niveau 7 : 100/200, 25 ante

Despite the blinds being low, "Fishboy1969" open-jammed for 24,975 from middle position and "Attila1" called off for 18,111 from the button. The blinds both folded and the hands were turned up.

"Fishboy1969": {10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
"Attila1": {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

"Attila1" woke up with a big pocket pair and improved to top set on the {9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop. However, "Fishboy1969" had both a flush and open-ended straight draw.

The {8-Diamonds} turn left "Attila1" looking to full up on the river, but that didn't happen as the {a-Spades} bricked to send the pot and $100 bounty over toe "Fishboy1969."

WSOP History: Looking Back at the November (and October) Nines

Niveau 7 : 100/200, 25 ante
2014 WSOP November Nine
2014 WSOP November Nine

No stage in poker stood as a bigger goal for a tournament player than the final table of the WSOP Main Event. For years, that meant going to sleep knowing you had the chance of a lifetime, to go down in poker history in the next few days as the cameras captured your every bet, raise and fold.

All of that changed in 2008.

The year after Jerry Yang's Main Event victory was broadcast to all on ESPN's standard tape delay, organizers made a decision to try to increase the excitement and anticipation around the final table: after the final nine was reached, play would be paused. At that point, everyone left would go home with 9th-place money and the players would reconvene a few months later to play out the final table on a short tape delay.

That lasted until 2016, and this is the history of the November (and October) Nines.
