Greg Raymer Looking to Continue 2020 Heater

Greg Raymer
Greg Raymer

Greg "FossilMan" Raymer, the 2004 Main Event champ, flew into Vegas a couple weeks ago and has been battling to try and capture his second gold bracelet.

Sixteen years ago, Raymer became a poker household name after he bested a field of 2,576 players to win the World Series of Poker Main Event for $5 million. You might remember him defeating David Williams in heads-up play and competing at a final table that hosted such memorable faces as Josh Arieh and Dan Harrington. The "Singing Dutchman" Marcel Luske bubbled that final table finishing in 10th place for $373,000.

Raymer is looking to continue a hot start to 2020 prior to the pandemic. In January, he topped a 520-entry field to win the Heartland Poker Tour East Chicago $1,650 Main Event for $171,411 and his record fifth HPT title. On top of that, he won some smaller tournaments during a guest appearance at Black Oak Casino Resort in Tuolumne, California.

Raymer, the 2012 HPT Player of the Year, was also a guest on the PokerNews Podcast earlier this year, which you can listen to by clicking here.

"AIm200": {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Kathy "Luckygal" Liebert: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

Liebert was in rough shape and didn't get any help from the {9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{a-Clubs} flop.

The {j-Diamonds} turn gave "AIm200" a set and Liebert drawing dead as the {9-Hearts} river ended her tournament.
