Renan Bruschi Wins Event #14 for First WSOP Bracelet and $150,327

Niveau 44 : 300,000/600,000, 75,000 ante
Renan Bruschi
Renan Bruschi

Renan Bruschi had to make it through 2,639 entries on Day 1, and 35 returning players on Day 2, to take down the biggest share of the $1,253,525 prize pool and his first Gold Bracelet in Event #14: The Big 500 of the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online. This is Bruschi's first bracelet, but he is no stranger to the winner's circle, with almost $7,000,000 in online wins.

Bruschi came to the final table second in chips, but almost 10 million behind the leader and fellow Brazilian Rafael "riskgambler" Furlanetto. Bruschi quickly grabbed the lead when he eliminated David "MPEW299" Wang in eighth place, and while he wasn't in a constant lead through the final table, was consistently the top stack.

Bruschi was certainly having a good time at the final table today. He was on SnapCam several times through the final table, singing and eating. That casual attitude translated to his play at the table, as he was in control for much of the end-game.

Day 2 Action

It was a short Day 2 with play lasting around 4.5 hours. Furlanetto was the one who came to Day 2 with the biggest bag, but he was only able to take that so far. He made it as far as the final table with the biggest stack, but then Bruschi took over the lead and held it most of the rest of the way, and Furlanetto ended his day in 3rd place.

Along the way to the final table, there were a few notables who tried and fell short. Phachara "Phachara W" Wongwichit was second in chips to start the day, but couldn't turn that into better than 22nd place. Friend of GG Jessica Teusl was on the other end of the spectrum, coming into the day short stacked, and ending her run early in 34th place.

Bruschi ended up as the SnapCam Champion from this event, after singing and dancing his way to the bracelet, but it could have gone a different way. Second place finisher Leonid "Mikleler" Bilokur was down to just over 2 big blinds at one point before getting a 4x chip-up, followed by a couple of doubles to get back into it.

In the end, the difference was run-good. The final hand was aces for Bilokur against ten-four suited, with Bruschi hitting a four-card straight on the river to give him all the chips. Bilokur had to be satisfied with $122,728 for 2nd place after battling back from fumes five-handed, and Bruschi won more than $150,000 plus the bracelet.

That brings the PokerNews coverage of Event #14 to a close. Stay tuned to the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events hub for action on all the bracelet events at GGPoker this month.

Leonid "Mikleler" Bilokur was on fumes earlier in the final table, down to barely two big blinds. He got a 4x chip up in one hand, then another few doubles shortly after, to take the chip lead. It wasn't quite the worst-to-first fairly tale in the end, however, after getting heads-up against Renan Bruschi. In the final hand, Bilokur raised to 1.8 million and got the call.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Spades} and Bruschi check-called for 1,837,500. Bruschi fired about 4 million on the {7-Hearts} turn, and Bilokur called to see {9-Diamonds} on river. Bruschi bet 11,869,500, enough to put Bilokur all-in, and the Russian called.
