De Silva Holds With King-High to Double

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Upeshka De Silva
Upeshka De Silva

On a flop of {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades} the action checked to Upeshka De Silva who put in a bet before his opponent raised enough to cover his stack. De Silva took a moment before calling off his 19,700 and saying, "I hope you have four-five of spades or something."

Upeshka De Silva: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}
Opponent: {q-Spades}{9-Spades}

Both players had flopped a flush draw but De Silva was in the lead with the king-high. The board completed with the {7-Hearts} on the turn and the {a-Diamonds} on the river for neither player to improve and De Silva's high card got him the double up.

Taylor Traps

Niveau 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

The player in the hijack open limped. Raymond Taylor in the cutoff raised to 1,900. It folded back to the player in the hijack and he made the call.

They went heads-up to the flop and it came {3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The action went check, check.

The turn card was the {6-Clubs}. The player in the hijack led out with a bet of 2,400 and before the dealer could announce the bet, Taylor had effectively moved all-in, covering his opponent.

The hijack thought for a few seconds and reluctantly called off his stack.

Hijack: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Raymond Taylor: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The river brought the {j-Spades} to give Taylor top two pair and a knockout.

Rosa Rallies

Niveau 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

The player in the hijack raised to 1,200. It folded around to Luis Rosa in the small blind and he put in a three-bet to 3,400. The hijack made the call and they went heads-up to the flop.

{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Clubs} fell on the flop. Rosa made a continuation bet of 3,100 and his opponent called.

The turn card was the {9-Spades}. This time Rosa checked and his opponent bet 6,200. Rosa tanked for a while and eventually just called.

The {7-Clubs} completed the board and Rosa checked again. The player in the hijack thought for a moment before betting 6,200 again. Rosa then moved all-in for 26,100 putting his opponent all-in and at risk. He folded and said, "you got it, man".

Rosa showed one card, the {9-Diamonds} giving him at least trip nines to scoop the pot.
