Day 1b of Event #4: $500 The Reunion No-Limit Hold'em has concluded. The second flight drew a field of 4,455 entries, a significant increase from yesterday during Day 1a of this $5,000,000 guarantee tournament. Only 204 of them survived the flight and will return for Day 2 on Monday, October 4th at 10 a.m. local time, where they will mix with the surviving players of Day 1a and the upcoming Day 1c.

Robert Brobyn bagged the top stack of 5,015,000 chips partly thanks to a run he went on at the end of the day where he accumulated a large number of chips. In one hand he got queens in against jacks and held, and in another, he found an ace while holding ace-king over kings.

A selection of the other notable stacks heading into Day 2 include Darryl Ronconi (2,030,000), Jeremy Wien (1,625,000), Roland Israelashvili (750,000), and Barry Greenstein (500,000).

Some of the players who fell short of bagging a stack include Shaun Deeb, Qui Nguyen, Dan Shak, Matt Berkey, and Ryan Depaulo. However, they will have an opportunity to play in the final starting flight if they choose to with Day 1c starting on Sunday at 10 a.m. local time.

Picking up the action on a flop of {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} and roughly 20,000 already in the middle, the big blind checked over to Justin Arnwine, who put in a 6,000 bet. His opponent called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and the big blind checked to Arnwine once again, who put in a bet of 15,000. His opponent check-raised all-in for 43,000 and Arnwine couldn't call fast enough when he snapped the chips in and tabled his hand.

Robbins Flops Royal Flush in First Hand at Table

Niveau 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Casey Robbins
Casey Robbins

As Casey Robbins recounted and his tablemates confirmed, he had just moved to a new table when the blinds were 600/1200, and on his first hand he picked up {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

An early position player opened to 3,000 and a middle position player called, as did Robbins in the big blind.

The flop of {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} was the prettiest flop a poker player could see. All three players checked to the turn.

The {8-Diamonds} turn saw Robbins check, the early position player bet around 3,500, and Robbins called after the other player folded.

On the {2-Spades} river, Robbins put out a bet of 6,000 and his opponent called. His opponent showed {8-}{8-} for a turned set, but there was no hand in poker that would beat Robbin's royal as he chipped up to over double the starting stack.
