Daterao Wins a Pot, Gets a Penalty

Niveau 36 : 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante

Faisal Siddiqui opened with a raise to 2,400,000 before Jugal Daterao three-bet to 9,000,000.

Daterao, still upset over that ruling earlier, uttered some profanity in Siddiqui's direction. Siddiqui folded, the floor was called over, and Daterao was given a one-round penalty.

Siddiqui, after taking the hit in the three-way all in, is back up to 64,000,000.

Scotty Smith: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Faisal Siddiqui: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Smith hit a king on the flop of {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs} to take the lead and neither of his opponents got any help on the {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} turn and river.

Smith was all in for 11,700,000, Siddiqui was down to 39,200,000, while Yoo was eliminated.

Dramatic Hand For Daterao

Niveau 35 : 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante
Jugal Daterao
Jugal Daterao

Anthony Cass moved all-in from early position for 16,700,000. The action folded to Jugal Daterao in the small blind, who did not see that there was a player all-in.

Daterao put 500,000 in the pot and verbalized a call thinking that he was completing the big blind of 1,000,000. At that moment, he had realized that there was a player all-in and he insisted that if had known he would have folded. The dealer then called the floor for a ruling.

The floormen gave Daterao an opportunity to explain himself. They then discussed the situation and ruled that Daterao must call the all-in bet of Cass. Daterao was not happy with the ruling.

Anthony Cass: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Jugal Daterao: {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The pocket threes of Cass held and he doubled through Daterao.

Day 1 Chip Leader Brobyn Busts

Niveau 35 : 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante
Robert Brobyn
Robert Brobyn

Robert Brobyn began the day as the chip leader and was able to run that stack all the way to a top-30 finish.

On his last hand of the tournament, Brobyn shoved for 7,500,000 with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Long Ma called with {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}.

Brobyn was well ahead but the board was unkind, running out {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Clubs} to give Ma a pair of tens on the turn and the knockout.

Galindo Wins With The Best Hand

Niveau 34 : 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Randy Davis moved all-in for the remainder of his stack. Josep Galindo called when the action got to him.

Randy Davis: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Josep Galindo: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The flop was {3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} giving Davis top pair. The turn came the {4-Hearts} and the river was the {k-Hearts} which now gave Galindo a better pair to eliminate Davis.
