Amarapu Gets a Full Triple Up; Chops Up a Nice One with Woods

Niveau 20 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
James Woods
James Woods

Board: {3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}

James Woods: {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Vasu Amarapu: {a-}{a-}{9-}{6-}
Theron Eichenberger: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

The hand was discovered as the dealer was splitting up the pot. Half of the pot was being awarded to Eichenberger and Woods, respectively. Woods had a seven low and Eichenberger filled up by the river to each have earned their half.

Eichenberger received a much needed triple up, while Woods chipped back up to a more comfortable level. Amarapu's stack took a small hit, but he still had around 300,000 chips after this pot.

Buckley and O'Dell Chop it Up

Niveau 20 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Scott Baumstein raised from early position and was called by William Buckley in the hijack, JJ Liu in the small blind, and Frankie O'Dell in the big blind.

All four players checked on the {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} flop and it was checked to Baumstein on the {7-Diamonds} turn, who bet. Liu folded, but O'Dell and Buckley called.

The {5-Hearts} completed the board and it was checked to Buckley, who bet. Only O'Dell called and Buckley turned over {4-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for the low. O'Dell held {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} for the high and they split up the pot.

Brock Triples Up; Pender Eliminated on the Last Hand Before Break

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Board: {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Vasu Amarapu: {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Joshua Pender: {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Jeter Brock: {q-}{a-Clubs}{2-}{6-Clubs}

The betting action had been completed preflop, and Brock and Pender were all-in and at risk.

After all of the dust settled, it was Brock that tripled up with a nut-nut winning flush and low combination. That sent Pender to the rail in 88th place, and gave Brock new life.

A Round of Counts

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Money Bubble Has Burst

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

No sooner than the tournament staff had announced hand-for-hand play, the money bubble burst after Victor Aguero was eliminated.

The remaining players will take home at least $2,400 for their efforts.

Woods Gives it up

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

John Racener opened from early position and action folded around to James Woods in the big blind, who looked hesitant but eventually said, "I have to do it," and called.

Woods then check-folded to a bet from Racener on a {3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop, revealing the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.
