Kessler Eliminates Opponent

Niveau 7 : 600/1,200, 0 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

The under the gun player raised and action folded to Allen Kessler on the button who three-bet. Both blinds got out of the way and the initial raiser called.

On the first draw, the under the gun player took three, which seemed to surprise Kessler, who only drew one. The under the gun player then checked to Kessler who bet-called the subsequent raise by his opponent.

The second draw saw the under the gun player draw one, while Kessler stood pat. The player under the gun check-jammed his remaining stack. Kessler called to put his opponent at risk and both players stood pat on the final draw.

The at risk player announced a rough eight, which was bested by Kessler's {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}, sending his opponent to the rail.

Baker bet and Gamble snap called. Baker revealed {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} but was beat by Gamble's {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-} who had a better eight-seven.

Turner Loses Battle of the Blinds

Niveau 7 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Action folded to Joshua Turner in the small blind, who limped. The big blind checked their option to send the players heads up to the initial draw.

Both blinds took three cards, after which Turner led out. The big blind called.

On the second draw Turner took one card as did the player in the big blind. Turner checked and quickly folded to a bet from the big blind. The big blind player showed the table {9-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} for a nine-seven, which Turner confirmed he was behind.

Field Getting Big at Break

Niveau 6 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

With 270 entries through the first six levels of play, today's event is already approaching last year's entry total of 285, which will surely be surpassed with three levels of entry still available.

For now, those still in the field have been sent on their second 15-minute break of the day.

Friedman Four-Bets, Chips Up

Niveau 6 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

The under the gun player raised and action folded to the player in the cutoff who three-bet. The button and small blind got out of the way to send the option to Adam Friedman in the big blind, who opted to four-bet. Both remaining players called to generate a sizable pot heading to the initial draw.

On the first draw Friedman drew one card while both other players took two. Friedman continued his aggression and led out with a bet. It was not enough to dissuade either the under the gun player or the cutoff, both of whom flatted.

The second draw saw all three players take just one card. Friedman was in no mood to slow down, however, and put out another bet. Again, the other two players called to keep the action three handed heading to the final draw.

For the third draw, Friedman stood pat and then checked following the single card draw from both the under the gun and cutoff players. They both checked back and Friedman showed down {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-} which was met by two quick mucks to send some much needed chips Friedman's way.

Woods Getting Short

Niveau 6 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
James Woods
James Woods

After four bets each were in the middle from Valentin Vornicu in the hijack, James Woods on the button, and Adam Kerbel in the big blind, Kerbel drew two, Vornicu patted and Woods drew two.

Kerbel checked and Vornicu bet, receiving calls from each opponent.

Kerbel then drew one, Vornicu remained pat and Woods drew one.

The betting action was then identical with Kerbal and Woods calling a bet from Vornicu.

Kerbel needed to draw one again, Vornicu patted again and this time Woods patted as well.

Kerbel checked, Vornicu fired a final time and was called by Woods. Kerbel folded.

Vornicu showed {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-} which held from the beginning to take the pot.

In the following hand, several more bets were in the middle before Kerbel also took a pot from Woods who missed a draw with {7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}, pulling another {2-} on the final draw.
