Waigel Limps and Then Gets Aggressive

Niveau 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Ezequiel Waigel
Ezequiel Waigel

Ezequiel Waigel limped from middle position, the button called, and Eugene Katchalov checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}. Katchalov led from the big blind for 12,000 before Waigel put in the raise to 40,000. Katchalov made the call after the button folded.

On the {a-Clubs} turn, Katchalov check-called a bet of 68,000 from Waigel.

When the {q-Clubs} river landed, Katchalov checked again. Waigel bet 150,000, about half of Katchalov's remaining stack.

Katchalov thought for about three minutes before two players simultaneously called the clock on him.

"Did you wait until the 32:00 mark on the clock too?" said clock caller Craig Trost.

Waiting until the tournament director reached zero, Katchalov eventually releases his hand.

Some details of the hand were provided thanks to Trost.
