Claassen Moving Up

Christopher Claassen opened from the cutoff and faced a three-bet from Erik Sagstrom on the button, which he called to send the two players heads-up to the initial draw.

On the first draw both players took two cards and Claassen check-called the continuation from Sagstrom.

The second draw saw each player take just one card. This time Claassen led into Sagstrom who smooth-called.

Claassen stood pat during the final draw while Sagstrom took one last card. Action then checked through and Claassen turned over {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-} to take down the pot and move up over 300,000.

Grospellier Gets There

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier opened from under the gun and faced a three-bet from Andrew Kelsall one seat over. Action folded back around to Grospellier who made the call.

On the first draw Grospellier took two cards while Kelsall stood pat. Grospellier then checked to the initial three-bettor, who continued and was called.

The second draw saw Grospellier take just one card and Kelsall again stand pat after which Grospellier check-called another bet from the Floridian.

Both players stood pat during the final draw and action checked through. Grospellier tabled {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and, tossing his hand facedown into the middle, Kelsall said, "I keep winning the hands I'm supposed to lose and losing the hands I'm supposed to win".

Elsewhere, start of day chipleader Oscar Johannson as well as David "ODB" Baker were seen exiting the tournament area.

O'Neil Licks His Lips; Baker Scores Small Double

On the first draw, both William O'Neil and Shaun Deeb drew two. O'Neil bet and Deeb called. O'Neil stood pat and Deeb drew two again.

O'Neil bet and Deeb open-mucked {5-}{5-}{2-}{2-}. "I saw you lick your lips at your first card!" said Deeb.

On the very next hand, David "ODB" Baker was all in before the first draw and was called by Christopher Claassen in the big blind.

Baker drew one and then pat the next two draws, while Claassen drew three and then drew two on both subsequent draws.

Baker tabled {9-}{8-}{6-}{4-}{3-} and Claassen was live with {8-}{7-}{2-}. However, he paired with {3-}{2-} and Baker scored the double up.

Action folded around to Brian Hastings in the small blind who opened. Koray Aldemir flatted out of the big blind to send the two players heads-up to the initial draw.

Both players took two cards on the first draw after which Hastings led into Aldemir, who called.

Hastings stood pat on the second draw before firing off another bet after Aldemir drew two. Aldemir paused before deciding to call.

The final draw saw Hastings stand pat once more and Aldemir take one last card. Action checked through and Hastings showed {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} to take down the pot and move him back up over the 200,000 mark.
