Straight from his bracelet ceremony Brett Blackwood announced "Shuffle up and deal" and took his seat. Blackwood won the Michigan only Big $500 on Sunday for $35,559.

Troy Toth limp the small blind and Blackwood raised to 600 in the big blind. Toth called.

The flop was {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Toth check-called Blackwood's 600 bet.

The {6-Hearts} was the turn and Toth led out for 1,400. The online bracelet winner called.

The river was {7-Hearts} and Toth continued the aggression and bet 2,600. Blackwood put in the raise to 8,600 and Toth called. Blackwood showed {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for king high while Toth showed {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the flush.

In a blind versus blind situation, the flop showed {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} in a raised pot when Pierre Calamusa led out with a bet and his opponent called.

The {4-Clubs} turn went check-check and Calamusa sent 500 in the middle when the {q-Clubs} hit the river. His opponent called but mucked his hand when Calamusa revealed {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for two pair.

Welcome to Day 1 of Event #33: $3,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em at the 2022 World Series of Poker. The event returns for a second year, and play will begin at 3 p.m. local time at The 2022 WSOP at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas.

Last fall, Brian Rast defeated a field of 997 entrants to claim a fifth WSOP gold bracelet and the top prize of $474,102. Other bracelet winners who grabbed a share of the $2,661,990 prize pool included Manig Loeser, Sejin Park, Georgios Sotiropoulos and Alan Sternberg.

Players will begin this two-day event with a starting stack of 40,000 chips and blinds at 100/200/200. Levels will be 30 minutes in duration, with 15-minute breaks every four levels. Late registration will remain open until the end of Level 12, which is expected to end at approximately 9:45 p.m. local time. Day 1 will break after 21 levels of play, and resume Thursday at 2 p.m. before playing down to a winner.
