Huge Spin Up for Vogelsang

Niveau 10 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang was down to just 170,000 chips and managed to find two previous double-ups. He was back at it again when he raised to 45,000 from under the gun. Chance Kornuth three-bet to 180,000 from the big blind and Vogelsang called.

The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Kornuth led out with a bet of 90,000. Vogelsang called and the {8-Clubs} peeled off on the turn. Kornuth splashed in a large bet, enough to cover Vogelsang's remaining 540,000 chips. After using a time bank, Vogelsang eventually called to put himself at risk.

Kornuth whipped over {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for just a straight draw while Vogelsang was well out front with {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. The river was the {4-Diamonds} and Vogelsang held on for yet another double up.

Badziakouski Keeps It Small

Niveau 10 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski opened to 40,000 from under the gun and was called by Andrew Lichtenberger in the cutoff. The flop came {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Badziakouski continued with a bet of 40,000. Lichtenberger still called and the {7-Spades} landed on the turn.

Badziakouski fired out another bet of 65,000 and Lichtenberger stuck around to see the {a-Hearts} on the river. Badziakouski bet one more time, counting out another 65,000. Lichtenberger finally threw his cards away and Badziakouski dragged in the pot.

Vogelsang Doubles Twice

Niveau 10 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Christoph Vogelsang was at risk preflop holding the {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} against the {k-Spades}{10-Spades} of Dan Smith.

The flop gave Vogelsang a set as it came {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, the turn was the {6-Hearts} and the river came the {a-Spades} to give him a double.

A couple of hands later he was all in and at risk again but this time with a huge lead with the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} vs the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} of Sam Soverel.

The flop provided some sweat however as it came {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} to give Soverel a Broadway draw. The river was the {2-Hearts}, Vogelsang would need to avoid a jack and he did as the {10-Clubs} came off to give him a second double up in a few hands to bring his stack up to a healthy amount.

Schindler Triples Up

Niveau 10 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Jake Schindler
Jake Schindler

Dan Smith opened to 50,000 in the cutoff and Chance Kornuth flat-called on the button. Jake Schindler ripped all in for 165,000 in the big blind which Smith called. Kornuth re-shoved over the top and Smith was forced to lay his hand down.

Jake Schindler: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Chance Kornuth: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

They were off to the races and it was Schindler who took the lead on the {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop. The {k-Clubs} on the turn and the {k-Spades} on the river locked up the win for Schindler who tripled his stack.

Yotsushika Calls Ivey's Bluff

Niveau 10 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The action folded to Phil Ivey in the small blind who limped in and Kazuhiko Yotsushika checked his option. The flop came {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} and Ivey check-called a bet of 25,000 from Yotsushika.

The turn was the {q-Hearts} and Ivey checked again. Yotsushika flicked in another bet of 25,000 and Ivey still called. The {9-Hearts} completed the board and Ivey led out with a bet of 100,000. Yotsushika quickly called and Ivey just mucked his cards. Yotsushika showed {q-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for two pair while he was shipped the pot.

Set Over Set Gives Yotsushika Huge Pot

Niveau 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Action was three-ways on a flop of {5-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and a pot of 175,000 in the middle. From under the gun, Mikita Badziakouski bet 50,000. Stephen Chidwick called in the cutoff. Kazuhiko Yotsushika raised to 175,000. Badziakouski called and Chidwick folded.

The turn was the {j-Clubs}. Yotsushika led out for 225,000. Baziakouski thought for a while before sticking out a raise to about 700,000 which was close to covering Yotsushika who said all in to make sure and the cards were turned over to reveal the cooler.

Badziakouski had the {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} which was crushed by the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} turned set of Yotsushika. The huge pot looked poised to go to the Japanese player barring the case five on the end which did not come as the {a-Hearts} rolled off on the river to package the largest pot of Day 1 thus far and send it to Yotsushika.

Aldemir Gets It Done with a Min-Raise

Niveau 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Nilesh Patel limped in from under the gun and Koray Aldemir raised to 50,000 on his left. It folded back to Patel who made it 175,000 to go. Aldemir called and the dealer spread the flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

Patel led out with a bet of 195,000 and Aldemir used a time bank before pushing out a min-raise to 390,000, leaving himself with just over 300,000 behind. That was enough though, as Patel mucked his cards and Aldemir was awarded the pot.
