Kings No Good For Delacombaz

Niveau 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

Gary Bignell raised in early position to 300. Christian Delacombaz, on his immediate left, three-bet to 1,000, and Bignell called.

On a {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Bignell bet 1,000 and Delacombaz raised to 2,500. Bignell called to see the {a-Hearts} turn. He bet 1,000 again and Delacombaz raised to 2,500, again. Bignell called, again, and the {6-Clubs} completed the board.

Bignell bet a third time, 3,800, but this time Delacombaz folded. He showed {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Gary Bignell showed him {a-Spades}{8-Spades}, for a flush draw on the flop and a pair of aces on the turn.

Taylor Cracks Jacks for Knockout

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

After a limp from under the gun, the early position player raised to 1,000. He got calls from late position and from Stuart Taylor, the big blind.

On the {3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop, the early position player moved all in. After a fold from late position, Taylor made the snap-call with his opponent covered.

Opponent: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Stuart Taylor: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

Taylor had flopped a set and his opponent was drawing thin. The {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} runout changed nothing, and Taylor scooped the pot while his opponent departed for the rail.

Johnson Makes a Bigger Boat on the River

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Action started with a raise from a player in early position to 500. Gerald Johnson called in late position and Ricardo Graells came along from the button.

On the flop of {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, the first player bet 2,000 and Johnson raised it to 5,000. Graells called, the opener folded, and it was heads up to the turn {3-Clubs}.

Johnson bet 8,000 and Graells called again to see the {q-Diamonds} land on the river. Johnson moved in for 8,000. Graells called to discovered the bad news :

Gerald Johnson: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Ricardo Graells: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Graells flopped a set against two pair for Johnson, but the river gave both full house. Johnson's was bigger (queens over aces) and Graells, who was off to a good start, is now a short stack.

Metivier Doubles Up

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Tim Metivier opened from under the gun for 600. He got calls from early position, late position, and both blinds, making it five-way action to the flop.

On the {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop, the big blind led out for 800, then Metivier moved all in for 6,700. Action folded back around to the big blind who, after a count from the dealer, made the call with Metivier covered.

Tim Metivier: {7-Spades}{9-Spades}
Big blind: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

His opponent had flopped top pair, but it was no good against Metivier's trips. The runout of {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} improved Metivier to a full house and he scooped the pot to double his stack.

Elsewhere at the table, defending champion Robert McMillan has continued his hot start, with one of the biggest stacks in the room sitting in front of him.

Glazer Doubles Up

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Action was picked up on the {9-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop with 2,500 in the middle. Jay Glazer moved all in from the small blind, getting a call from his opponent under the gun. With Glazer at risk, they tabled their hands.

Jay Glazer: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Glazer had flopped middle set, but would need to fade his opponent's nut flush draw to take the pot and stay alive in the tournament. He did so successfully, as the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} runout improved his hand to a full house, while leaving his opponent with just two pair. Glazer scooped the pot, doubling up, and moving up among the chip leaders.

Magdalinos Flopped The Straight

Niveau 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Action was caught when a {10-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop was already on the table. A player checked while Dimitrios Magdalinos bet 4,000. Everyone folded to the first player, who moved all in for 12,000. Magdalinos quickly called.

Opponent: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Dimitrios Magdalinos: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

With a Broadway straight on the flop, Magdalinos had to avoid diamonds to eliminate his opponent. And after an {a-Hearts} turn and a {10-Spades} river, he was able to do it.
