Eggers Cracks Kings To Double Up

Niveau 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

After a raise to 300 from Roger Eggers in early position, Chuck Kneff made it to 1,300 two seats over. Another player called and so did Eggers.

A {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop was checked by Eggers before Kneff bet 4,000. The other player folded and Eggers check-raised it with two red chips, to 10,000. Kneff thought about it and called.

The turn was a {5-Diamonds} and Eggers announced all-in for almost 6,000, snap-called by Kneff.

Roger Eggers: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Chuck Kneff: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The river was a {10-Clubs} and Eggers' flopped two pair beat the pocket Kings of Kneff, who is now short.

Mavus Enjoying Strong First Level

Niveau 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

The under the gun player opened with a large sizing and the player in the hijack called. Keith Mavus, on the button, raised it up to 2,400. Both of his opponents called.

On the {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, the under-the-gun player lead for 2,900. Mavus instantly shoved for 19,000 after the hijack folded.

His opponent went into the tank for just under a minute before electing to click the fold button, sending a very nice pot Mavus' way.

Bouziden Busts Aces

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Action was picked up on the flop with a pot of 2,100 and a board of {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{k-Spades}. The middle position player bet 700, Thomas Bouziden raised to 1,400 in the cutoff, the button called, and the initial better folded.

On the {8-Hearts} turn, the button bet 4,000 and Bouziden moved all in for 5,300. The button snap-called with Bouziden covered.

Thomas Bouziden: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Button: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Bouziden was ahead with his trip kings and would just need to fade an ace on the river. He did so as the {2-Diamonds} hit the board, securing the pot and the double-up for Thomas Bouziden.

Action was picked up after a raise to 1,000 from Chris Papastratis in early position and a call from another player. Then, Cedric Darrett glanced over at Papastratis stack and raised it to 13,000.

It was about Papastratis' remaining stack, and he decided to call it off to put himself at risk. The other player folded.

Chris Papastratis: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Cedric Darrett: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

The dealer fanned out a {9-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} board and Darrett made a set of sixes on the turn to eliminate Papastratis.

Smith Takes it with Two Pair

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Action was picked up after Patrick Smith made the call of his opponent's all-in move for 7,900 on the {q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} turn. Smith had him covered, and the two were off to the races.

Opponent: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Patrick Smith: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Smith was way ahead with his top two, and the {4-Diamonds} river did nothing to change that, as he scooped the pot and sent his opponent to the rail.

Greg Raymer
Greg Raymer

2004 Main Event Champion Greg Raymer is back for Day 1b of the Seniors Championship after failing to bag in Day 1a, although he still put on quite a performance. After seeing his chip stack reduced to a single 100 chip yesterday, he managed to run his stack back up to over 26,000 before his eventual elimination. So far in Day 1b, he's off to a much better start.

"Night and day," he told PokerNews, "Yesterday I lost half my stack on my first hand, today I doubled up on my first hand."
