Studdard Restarts Strong

Niveau 13 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Darius Studdard came out swinging from the dinner break.

Action was picked up after Studdard had raised from the cutoff and been three-bet from the small blind to 43,000. Studdard four-bet to 149,000, an effective all in as this covered the small blind. The small blind took his time, considering his options, before calling off and tabling his hand.

Small blind: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Darius Studdard: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, eliminating the small blind and winning Studdard a substantial pot on his first hand after the break.

Four Way All-In Pot Sends Two Players to Rail

Niveau 13 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action was picked up preflop, just after the fourth player had moved all in.

"You're all in too? You guys are making this hard on me. I need to figure this pot out," remarked the dealer.

Charlie Eison, the big blind, was the big stack. The next largest belonged to the player on the button, who had about 72,000 behind. Then DJ MacKinnon, the under-the-gun player, who had less than his starting stack remaining. Finally, the short stack belonged to a player in early position, with just 10,000 left. The players tabled their hands.

Early Position: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
DJ MacKinnon: {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Button: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Charlie Eison: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

"Run it and then figure it out," suggested MacKinnon. The dealer obliged, dealing out the {3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}.

MacKinnon had made a seven high straight for the best hand, while Eison had made a set. MacKinnon took the main pot, while the remaining chips in the side pot went to Eison. The early position player and button were both eliminated.

Mather and Alleyn, Set Over Set

Niveau 13 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Robert Mather
Robert Mather

Robert Mather was all-in for his remaining stack from the button, and Anthony Alleyn snap-called from the big blind.

Robert Mather: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Anthony Alleyn: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

After they tabled their cards, Mather stood up and put on his backpack.

The flop was {j-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, and Alleyn was well in the lead.

Lightning struck on the turn, and Mather spiked the {4-Spades} for a set, almost prompting him to sit back down in his seat.

However, lightning would strike twice, as the {k-Clubs} gave Alleyn the better set.

Alleyn clapped loudly in celebration, and Mather was eliminated.

The Dragon Runs Hot

Niveau 14 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
David Pham
David Pham

David "The Dragon" Pham ran hot as he got it in three ways.

An early position player limped in for 6,000, and Pham raised to 18,000 preflop. The hijack, button, big blind and early position limper all elected to call.

The flop was deceiving as it fell {6-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

The action checked to Pham. He opened for 28,000. The button then moved all in for 67,000, and play folded to the early position limper who re-shoved for 75,000. Pham took a moment and thought, before calling off and cards are flipped.

Button: {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Early position limper: {j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
David Pham: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The button was a strong favorite, and the early position was open ended, however Pham needed a lot of help.

The turn showed a {7-Hearts}, bringing a flush draw for Pham.

The river fell {9-Hearts}, completing the straight for the early position player but also bringing in Pham's flush. It took a moment for the table to notice the winning hand however, as the early position starts to celebrate, but Pham cut this short, slapping his hand on the table repeatedly.

Two players fell to the Dragon as he climbed to just under half a million chips.

Another check-call from Kang, this time for 25,000. The river was {j-Diamonds}, and this time Kang bet out 50,000. His opponent folded. This hand brought Kang's chip count to 315,000.

In the very next hand, his same opponent shoved all in for 70,000.

Hebert Doubles Up Through Campbell

Niveau 14 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Joseph Hebert fired preflop for 30,100, nearly his full stack. Action folded to six-time NFL Pro Bowler Calais Campbell, who wasted little time in shoving his entire stack into the middle. With little behind anyway, Hebert made the call. With Hebert at risk, the players tabled their hands.

Joseph Hebert: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Calais Campbell: {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Hebert was behind but had plenty of outs. He picked up some more in the form of a flush draw after the {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop. He picked up a straight draw as well on the {2-Spades} turn. Neither draw would get there, as instead Hebert's ace hit on the {a-Diamonds} river. Hebert scooped the pot and doubled his stack.

Cajelais Takes Big Pot

Niveau 14 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

With 120,000 in the middle on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds} Erik Cajelais bet 40,000 from the big blind and was called by the cutoff.

Cajelais downsized his bet to 35,000 on the {k-Hearts} turn, but the cutoff waved the white flag and flashed an ace at his opponent.

This was the last hand to be completed at the Paris Ballroom. All remaining players have merged into Bally's where play will continue until the end of level 22.
