Peters' New Stack of Chips Falls to Pieces with Aces

Niveau 12 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

After just being on the right side of a cooler against Daniel Negreanu, David Peters was looking to become one of the chip leaders just moments later.

Aleksejs Ponakovs opened to 80,000 from under the gun and Peters three-bet to 320,000 on the button. Martin Kabrhel flat-called from the big blind only to have Ponakovs four-bet shove all in. Peters thought for a brief moment before calling off his stack of around 2,800,000. Kabrhel folded and the remaining two hands were tabled.

David Peters: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Aleksejs Ponakovs: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Peters was in great shape to score another big double up but the flop of {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs} gave Ponakovs a few outs to a straight. The {3-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn but the {j-Spades} on the river was exactly what Ponakovs was looking for.
