Hlavaty Wins Battle of the Blinds

Niveau 14 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

On a turn board of {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, two players were battling it out heads-up.

Arsh Grover in the small blind checked over to his opponent, Jarrett Hlavaty, who was in the big blind. Hlavaty then bet 62,000, but was immediately check-raised to 150,000 by Grover. After a great deal of thought, Hlavaty slid out a stack of chips for the call.

The river came the {a-Clubs} which double-paired the board and saw Grover slowly check to Hlavaty, who then moved all in. After a few seconds, Grover hung his head and folded. Hlavaty was pushed the massive pot and his chip stack grew to 700,000.

Nakache Surging Up The Leaderboard

Niveau 14 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Eoghan O'Dea
Eoghan O'Dea

A PokerNews live reporter arrived at the table on the river with 40,000 in the middle and a board of {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

The reporter was reliably informed by Tony Dunst that action was checked through from the flop to the river.

The middle position player bet 13,000 which was called by Eoghan O'Dea in the cutoff. Elie Nakache in the big blind bet 85,000 which garnered a fold from middle position.

The action was on O'Dea who was in the tank for a couple of minutes. The Irishman found a call and to his dismay Nakache turned over {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a flopped flush with the worst hand in poker. O'Dea mucks and Nakache started assembling his massive stack.

Li Cracks Aces

Niveau 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The under-the-gun player raised to 8,000 and acition folded around to Victor Li in the small blind, who defended, and the heads-up players went to a flop of {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

Li checked to his opponent, who then bet 12,000 and Li called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Li checked once again to the raiser, who then bet 12,000, only leaving ~16,000 behind. Li decided to rip it all-in for the rest of it, his opponent snap-called and tabled {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}, while Li turned over his {k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Li was way behind until the river gifted him with the {k-Spades}, which gave him trip kings to defeat his opponents aces, much to their owner's disbelief. Li was granted a big double up while his opponent was eliminated from the tournament.

With 56,000 in the middle on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, the small blind bet 16,000 and was met with a raise of 42,000 from Ozgur Secilmis in middle position. The small blind made the call.

Both players checked the {j-Diamonds} turn and the {8-Hearts} landed on the river. Secilmis bet 75,000, nearly half of his remaining stack. The small blind took some time before moving all in, which was snap-called by Secilmis for 181,000.

The small blind looked as white as a sheet when he turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} whilst Secilmis slammed down {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for the flush to take down the biggest pot of the night and a commanding chip lead.
