Ali Off To A Good Start

Niveau 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

In late position, Mohamed Ali raised to 500. On the button, another player raised to 1,400, then Ali four-bet to 6,000 and his opponent called.

There was already more than 12,000 in the pot when the {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop came on the table. The Moroccan bet 5,000, his opponent raised to 15,000 and Ali made it 30,000. His opponent folded and Ali took that juicy pot.

Burtin Really Wanted That Pot

Niveau 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

In early position, a player limped and Nicolas Burtin raised to 900. The player called to see a flop.

On a {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, Burtin bet 700 and his opponent check-called. Turn was the {6-Hearts} and after a new check from his opponent, Burtin bet 11,400. This bet was enough to make his opponent fold.

The Frenchman is almost back to the starting stack size.

Freeroll for Pitcher

Niveau 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Action was caught on a {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} turn, with Mike Pitcher all in. Travis Swann called and we had a showdown.

Mike Pitcher: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Travis Swann: {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Both players made a straight on the turn, but Pitcher was also free rolling with a flush draw, giving Swann his first sweat of the day. The river was the {4-Diamonds} and they split the pot.

Pisano Fires Three Times

Niveau 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Riccardo Pisano opened to 500 and the player in the big blind called.

Then the Italian player bet 800 on a {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop and his opponent called. Same action on the {3-Diamonds} turn, but for 2,400.
The river was a {5-Hearts} and after a third check from his opponent, Pisano bet 5,000 and was called.

Riccardo Pisano showed {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a flush found on the flop, and won that pot.

Welcome to Day 1 of Event #66: $1,000 Mini Main Event No-Limit Hold’em

Georgios Sotiropoulos
Georgios Sotiropoulos

Just days before the start of the $10,000 buy-in Main Event, poker players from around the world have a date with the Mini Main Event, which is nothing but a carbon copy of its big brother, but with shorter levels.

Cards will be in the air at 11 a.m. PDT and players will begin with 60,000 chips and blinds starting at 100/200/200.

Last November, Georgios Sotiropoulos won this tournament in front of a field of 3,821 registrants and collected $432,575 and his third WSOP gold bracelet.

Levels are all 30 minutes long with a 20-minute break after every four levels on Day 1 and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 12 (about 5:40 p.m.). Late registration is open through the first 12 levels and dinner break, until approximately 6:55 p.m. local time. Day 1 play will end after Level 22, at which time remaining players will bag and tag their chips for Day 2.

Follow all the action right here at PokerNews for this event and every event here at the WSOP.
