Conte Eliminates One

Niveau 19 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

An early-position player moved all in for around 50,000 and Maxime Conte reshoved in late position to get the hand heads up.

Opponent: {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Maxime Conte: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

The flop came {4-Spades}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} to give Conte a big lead with top pair and the runout of {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} locked up the hand for him to send his opponent to the rail.

Hallaert Eliminates Garcirreynaldos

Niveau 19 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Javier Garcirreynaldos
Javier Garcirreynaldos

From the small blind, Kenny Hallaert completed and Javier Garcirreynaldos checked in the big blind.

Then, on a {4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop, Hallaert bet 20,000 and Garcirreynaldos shoved for about 210,000. Hallaert made the call.

Javier Garcirreynaldos: {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Kenny Hallaert: {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

Hallaert held the top pair and Garcirreynaldos only had a pair of fives, but both players were also chasing a straight. The {q-Diamonds} turn and {j-Diamonds} river were not the cards the Spanish player was hoping for and he was eliminated.

Young Victorious in Four Way All-In

Niveau 19 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

An open to 28,000 came from early/middle position. The hijack raised to 75,000. The button made the call, moving all in to do so with around 60,000 behind. Bradley Young rejammed for 177,000 from the small blind. After Jimmy D'Ambrosio, the big blind, got out of the way, the original raiser jammed as well, for around 200,000. The hijack called, with all three players covered.

Button: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Bradley Young: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Early/middle Position: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Hijack: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The button sat there with the best hand and the shortest stack, in great position to quadruple up. Nobody connected with the {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop, moving the button closer to the quadruple up. Then, the {8-Spades} turn gave Bradley Young a set, putting him way out in front. The hijack and early/middle position players were now drawing dead, and the button was drawing to a one-outer to make a higher set.

The river came the {10-Spades}, and the pot belonged to Bradley Young. He eliminated the button, and tripled up through the early/middle and hijack players. The remaining chips of the early/middle position players stack after paying off Young went to the hijack, who's pocket sevens bested his ace high to scoop that side pot.

The Bubble has Burst

Niveau 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

With 537 players remaining and 536 spots getting paid, the tournament had entered the hand-for-hand portion of play. On the same hand, two different players got knocked out on adjacent tables.

The first to fall shoved for 134,000 from late position, and got called by Anthony Newman in the big blind.

Opponent: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Anthony Newman: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Newman was still behind after the {10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} flop, but paired his ace on the {a-Hearts} turn to pull ahead. The {4-Hearts} river completed the board, and ensure the elimination of Newman's opponent.

One table over, Dan Matsuzuki found himself all in from the hijack for around 120,000. Kunal Shah called from middle position with Matsuzuki covered.

Dan Matsuzuki: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Kunal Shah: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Matsuzuki was ahead, but would need his queens to hold in the classic race. He was okay through the turn on the {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} runout, but the {k-Diamonds} river gave Shah the better pair, and Matsuzuki was eliminated.

Following these hands, the tournament director shared with the field that they had lost two players, who would be splitting the minimum payout, and all remaining players are officially in the money.

Raio Eliminated Before The Money

Niveau 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

David Van Reyk opened to 20,000 in early position and Nick Raio called two seats after him. Then the player in the hijack raised to 50,000. Van Reyk called but Raio announced, "All in."

The player in the hijack folded and Van Reyk tanked. He finally made the call with only 50,000 more than Raio and both players could open their cards :

Nick Raio: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
David Van Reyk: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The dealer ran a {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} board and Raio was eliminated just before the money.
