Davies Gets a Fold from Faircloth

Niveau 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Scott Davies raised to 14,000 on the button and Jason made the call in the big blind to see a flop {q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Faircloth quickly check-called Davies' continuation bet for 12,000.

The turn brought the {a-Clubs} and Faircloth checked. After some thinking, Davies bet 20,000 and Faircloth called gain.

The {9-Spades} completed the board and after another check from Faircloth, Davies tossed a pile of T-5,000 chips in front of him for a bet over 100,000. Faircloth thought about it for some and eventually folded, showing a {4-Hearts}.

Shak Out, Nichan Big Winner in Four Way All In

Niveau 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Pot-Limit Omaha

Action was joined after four players had gotten it all in preflop: David Wang with the short stack, then Dan Shak, then Khorchidian Nichan, and Raymond Henson, who had all of them covered.

David Wang: {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Dan Shak: {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Khorchidian Nichan: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Raymond Henson: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Nichan was ahead with his aces, and he managed to weather the {4-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} runout with those aces still being best. He scooped the pot, knocking out Wang and Shak while doubling through Henson.

Reinbold Doubles Through Strong

Niveau 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

William Strong opened under the gun to 18,000 and it was called by Eric Fields and William Leffingwell before Zachary Reinbold shoved in the big blind for a remaining stack around 70,000. Strong reshoved and the other players let it go to create the following showdown:

Zachary Reinbold: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}
William Strong: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}

The board fanned {9-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades} to give a straight to Reinbold and double up his stack.

Niveau 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Vincent Lam ended Day 1 on a high note, after his hero call on the final hand of the night gave him over 1,000,000 chips to bag and the chip lead entering Day 2. His hot streak has continued here in the early stages of the second day.

Action was joined with around 220,000 in the pot on a completed board of {4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Mohammad Affaneh led out from the small blind for 94,000, sending Lam into the tank for a few minutes. He eventually made the call.

"Good call." Affaneh said immediately. Lam turned over {k-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for the second nut flush. Affaneh flashed the {a-Diamonds} before tossing his cards into the muck.

Leffingwell Takes One

Niveau 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Heads-up action was joined with a completed board of {3-Spades}{8-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and around 200,000 in the pot. William Leffingwell led out from the small blind for 120,000. His opponent, Vasken Ken Demlakian, went into the tank for several minutes, eventually announcing "I'd rather make a bad fold than a bad call," as he tossed his cards into the muck.

Leffingwell was quick to ask Demlakian what he had folded, offering knowledge of his own hole cards in return. Demlakian said he folded ace-queen, and Leffingwell said he had ace-king with the king of clubs. "It's the first hand we've ever played together," Leffingwell commented. "If you had played with me before you'd have folded right away. I'm the tightest player in the room."
