Resurreccion's River Shove Takes It

Niveau 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

After 17,100 got into the pot preflop, the {q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs} hit the felt. Bob Resurreccion checked from the small blind to his opponent on the button. He fired for 10,000, which Resurreccion called.

The pair checked through the {2-Diamonds} turn leading to the {a-Spades} on the river. The button led out for 30,000. Resurreccion raised by moving all in for around 60,000 total. The button tanked for a minute or so, before eventually folding and giving the pot to Resurreccion, who flashed the {q-Hearts} before sending his cards into the muck.

Runner Runner Quads

Niveau 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Jeff Boski
Jeff Boski

Preflop action had the Jeff Sluzinski raised to 22,000 from under the gun and everyone else folding around to the big blind who moved all in for 6,500.

Jeff Sluzinski: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

The flop came down {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Sluzinski was still in the lead. The {q-Hearts} on the turn and {q-Spades} on the river to give him quads was more than overkill to knock his opponent out and send him to the rail.

Wang Moves Up The Rankings

Niveau 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Nitis Udornpim bet 2,500 from early position and was called by Michael Wang in middle position, the cutoff, and the small blind.

The flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades} saw Udornpim down-bet to 1,300 and was raised by Wang to 6,500. The cutoff folded but the small blind moved all in. Udornpim folded and Wang called for 84,200 and was at risk.

Michael Wang: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Small Blind: {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The small blind had a double gutter while Wang was open-ended and had the nut flush draw.

The {4-Hearts} on the turn gave Wang the nut flush and the {k-Hearts} completed the board to give Wang a huge double up.

Deuces Good for Greenstein

Niveau 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Barry Greenstein opened from the hijack for 3,000. He got called by both blinds. The blinds checked the {3-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop over to Greenstein, who continued for 5,000. The small blind called while the big blind got out of the way.

The pair checked through the {5-Diamonds} turn leading to the {7-Spades} river. The small blind led out on this street, firing for 3,500. Greenstein thought for just a moment before tossing in the call. The small blind showed {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for queen high before Greenstein turned over {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a pair, good enough to scoop the pot.

Elsewhere in the room, Yaser Al-Keliddar was seen heading to the rail after being eliminated.

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With 22,000 in the middle and a flop of {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} showing, the small blind bet 5,000. Joe Cada in middle position went in to the tank for a minute before deciding to move all in for around 26,900.

His opponent thought about if for a few seconds before tossing his hand in the muck and Cada scooped the pot without having to show.

Lam Takes it Without Showdown

Niveau 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Four players helped build the pot to 18,000 before the {2-Clubs}{q-Spades}{a-Diamonds} flop hit the felt.

Action checked to Vincent Lam in the hijack who fired for 16,000. The button and small blind got out of the way before the big blind made the call, giving heads-up action to the turn.

The big blind checked the {k-Hearts} turn over to Lam, who tossed in a bet of 20,000. The big blind thought for a moment before begrudgingly mucking his hand.

After playing and failing to bag on Day 1a, Lam is hoping for some better luck on Day 1b. He's enjoyed plenty of success so far this series, cashing in six events, highlighted by a fourth place finish in Event #77: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha, for which the Canadian took home the biggest score of his career at $91,800.
