Rast Navigating His Short Stack

Niveau 19 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Five-Time WSOP bracelet winner Brian Rast has been working with a short stack for much of the day.

A pass by his table recently saw a couple of instances of Rast at work.

First, he raised to 30,000 in early position, and after action was folded to the big blind, they moved all in, covering Rast's remaining 175,000 chips.

As a tv camera focused on Rast as he pondered his decision, he chose to fold and preserve his stack.

On the following hand, Rast jammed that last 175,000 from under the gun and received folds from the entire table to add 40,000 back into his stack.

While Rast is still alive with his sub 20 big blind stack, others who had little to work with for much of the day have fallen by the wayside including Greg Merson, Ebony Kenney, Alexandre Reard, and Romain Lewis.
