Adam Walton

With 15,000 in the middle on a {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} board, the cutoff bet 7,000.

Adam Walton, sitting in early position, put his opponent all in. The cutoff, who had approximately 43,000 behind, contemplated for just under two minutes before finally making the call.

Walton flashed {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for a full house, rivering the best hand against his opponent's {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a flopped straight.

Adam Walton was the Day 1F chip leader in last year's Main Event and is looking to get off to a similar start in 2022. Walton ended up finishing in 42nd place and taking home $163,900.

Prahlad Friedman opened from late position to 700. Jeremy Maher, in the hijack, and Denise Whitson, on the button both called, as did the big blind.

On the {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop, Maher fired for 1,200. Whitson called while Friedman and the big blind got out of the way.

On the {9-Hearts} turn, Maher continued, firing 3,400 into the middle, and getting another call from Whitson.

Maher sized up and bet 6,000 on the {3-Hearts} river, getting one last call from Whitson. Maher turned over {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, good for two pair. Whitson pushed her cards into the muck while Maher scooped the pot.

Voogd fist-bumped the supervisor as she made her way to her seat.

"Go get 'em today," said the supervisor.

"Thanks! It's my first main event," said Voogd.

They will both look to play long enough to make it to live streams where they're both so comfortable.

Abramovich Shows Kennedy Quads

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Five players, including Lincoln Kennedy and Bernardo Abramovich, put in 700 before the {2-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs} flop.

All five players checked through to the {j-Hearts} turn when Kennedy bet 1,000. Only Abramovich called to see the {5-Hearts} river before he led out for 1,000. Kennedy quickly called.

"He has quads. I can see it in his face he has quads," a tablemate said as Abramovich first turned over the {9-Hearts}, followed by the {j-Diamonds}.

"I thought he would go a little higher if he had quads," Kennedy replied as he mucked {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

There was already 5,000 in the pot on the {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop and Matthew Davenport bet 1,800 from middle position.

Russian pro, Vitaly Lunkin called and American pro, Matt Stout, got out of the way.

The turn brought the {5-Clubs} and Davenport checked. Lunkin fired out 2,500 and Davenport called.

On the {a-Clubs} river the action went check-check.

Davenport showed {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} a set of sixes and Lunkin flashed {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for a set of fours as his hand went into the muck.

Lunkin avoided potential disaster on the flop by just calling and he remains above his starting stack early.

Kanit Holding Steady

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

A player opened to 1,000 on the button and Mustapha Kanit called out of the big blind.

Action checked through the {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop to the {8-Diamonds} turn where Kanit led out for 800. That bet alone was enough to get a fold from his opponent and send a small pot the Italian's way. Kanit was down in the chip counts early in the day but has since been holding steady, albeit below starting stack.
