Katz's Aces Good for Knockout

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

After a limp from early position, the button put in a raise to 2,000. Cary Katz, the small blind, put in a four bet to 6,000. The big blind and limper got out of the way, putting the action back on the button. He thought for a minute or so, before tossing in a stack of red chips, for a five bet to 27,000. Katz moved all in for a six bet and the button snap called as the player at risk.

Button: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Cary Katz: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Katz had his opponent dominated, and the {j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades} runout did nothing to change that. Katz scooped the pot while his opponent headed for the rail. The table continued discussing the hand as the next round of cards were being dealt out, and the early position limper shared that he folded pocket tens, and would have turned a set.

Meanwhile, across the table, Alex Foxen has crossed over the 10,000 mark as he attempts to capture his second bracelet of the summer.

Schwarmann went into the tank for a few minutes before tossing in a green 25,000 chip to call. Kleinecke turned over {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the rivered flush to take the pot and climb near the top of the chip counts.

Dopico Flops Nut Flush, Frustrates Brobyn

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The very end of a hand was captured as Robert Brobyn had called a bet of what looked like about 25,000 on the river on a board with three clubs on the flop.

William Dopico had the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for the flopped nut flush. While Brobyn talked out loud about how he was frustrated because it was the second time he had lost with queens (all undercards on the board) against Dopico as a large portion of his stack was cutaway.

Hovenden Evokes His "One Time" to Stay Alive

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

An early position player limped before Udi Perez made it 1,500 from middle position. Four players called, including Patrick Hagenlocher in late position and Todd Hovenden in the blind.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Action checked all the way to Hagenlocher, he bet 5,000 into the multi-way pot. His bet didn't get far before meeting resistance. Hovenden went all in for 26,300. Action folded back to Hagenlocher who made the call.

Patrick Hagenlocher: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Todd Hovenden: {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

"Alright, I'll take my one time now," said Hovenden.

Immediately, the {9-Clubs} hit the turn to answer Hovenden's request and give him the flush. The {4-Hearts} river made it official and he climbed back to starting stack.

Silver Updated Counts: Foxen in Peril

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Hong Left Short

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

A player in the cutoff had a bet of 3,000 in front of him and was facing a raise to 9,000 by Jinho Hong on the button. After some consideration the cutoff player called to send the two heads-up to the flop.

The cutoff checked after the {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop and then called when Hong continued for 6,000.

Action checked through the {k-Spades} turn to the {10-Spades} river. The cutoff, unconcerned that there was a four liner to a straight flush on the board, tossed out 12,600. Hong thought long and hard but eventually made the call. The cutoff somewhat sheepishly turned over {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} for the flush. Hong could not beat it, sending his chip count down below half starting stack.
