Roberts Gets Knockout

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

The heads up action was picked up on a board of {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades} with around 9,000 in the pot. The cutoff led out for 5,000. Brent Roberts, in the big blind, raised to 13,500. After a bit of deliberation, his opponent made the call.

On the {3-Clubs} river, Roberts continued, tossing 50,000 into the middle. His opponent, with only around 21,000 behind, would have to put himself at risk to make the call. After several minutes in the tank, he made that call.

Roberts turned over {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for the turned straight. His opponent pushed his cards towards the dealer, who began to sweep them into the muck, before realizing they must be shown as it was an all-in call, and turned over {j-Spades}{j-}. The pot was awarded to Roberts, who is now over double the starting stack.

Brock Wilson
Brock Wilson

Brock Wilson opened to 700 from the cutoff and was only called by the big blind to set up heads-up action heading to the flop.

The big blind checked to the preflop raiser on the {6-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop and Wilson continued for 400. His opponent quickly called.

The {8-Spades} turn saw the big blind check for a second time and Wilson, undeterred by his inability to shed his opponent on the flop, fired off 2,300. That bet was enough to elicit a fold and send more chips Wilson's way.
