Thornton Wins at Table Full of Main Event Experience

Niveau 4 : 300/500, 500 ante

Andrew Ostapchenko raised to 1,500 from the cutoff and was called by Mitchell Halverson on the button and big blind Schuyler Thornton.

All three players checked the {2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop before Thornton led out for 3,500 on the {8-Spades} turn.

Only Ostapchenko called to see the {4-Hearts} on the river. Thornton bet another 4,500 and Ostapchenko quickly folded.

This table is full of players who have made deep Main Event runs in the past. Halverson was 15th last year, while Ostapchenko was 33rd in 2017. Robin Hegele, who made the final three tables that same year, is also seated here.

The board was {k-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} and David Eldridge, from the hijack, had already fired a bet of 27,500 into a pot of roughly the same size.

Maria McAlpin, in the cutoff, went deep into the tank for several minutes, apologizing to the table on multiple occasions.

Despite staring Eldridge down on multiple occasions after stacking various amounts of chips, McAlpin finally made the call.

Eldridge flipped over {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for the flush, which had McAlpin shrugging her shoulders.

Pulkert Plucking Chips

Niveau 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Action was on the turn with the board reading {8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. Alexander Pulkert led for 10,000 from early position and his opponent called on the button.

The river came the {4-Hearts}. Pulkert checked and so did his opponent. He tabled the {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for trip aces which was the winner as his opponent mucked and Pulkert added a few more to his growing stack.

Tehan asked for a count and tanked for a few moments before committing the chips.

Casey Carroll: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

In a pot of roughly 8,000 on a board of {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, Jesse Sylvia checked from early position and the button bet 10,000. Sylvia check-raised to 37,000 and the button went deep in the tank.

After several minutes the button begrudgingly folded and another pot was slid to the chip leader.

"Show the naked ace of clubs", said another player at the table as Sylvia smirked and stacked up his large stack.

Lukas Robinson

Action was caught on the {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop with 3,700 in the pot.

Lukas Robinson check-raised to 4,500 from early position after Georgios Kapalas bet 2,000 from the button. Kapalas then made it 11,000 before he called off his 27,000 stack after Robinson jammed over the top.

Georgios Kapalas: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Lukas Robinson: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Robinson's flush draw was dominated but he still had pair and straight outs to scoop the pot. The {4-Clubs} secured the hand for Kapalas and the {j-Clubs} river completed the board.
