Thiery's Takes it With a Set

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Preflop action had a raise to 400 from the cutoff which the button and the big blind, Ron Thiery called. The flop came down {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and the three players checked.

The turn was a {3-Diamonds} and once again it was checked around.

A {k-Hearts} showed up on the river and Thiery checked to the cutoff who bet 500. The button folded, Theiry called and cards were up. The cutoff had {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for queen high but Theiry flipped over {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a flopped set of fours and it was good to take down the pot.

Sowers Takes From Reilly

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

In a pot of roughly 3,600 on a board showing {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Tim Reilly bet out 800 from the big blind. James Sowers took a moment before tossing in a chip for the call.

Reilly turned over {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Sowers revealed {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for a better pair and enough to scoop the early pot.

Yankov Cracks Top Set

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Picking up the action on the river with the board showing {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, Krasimir Yankov had a bet of 25,000 in front of him from middle position as the decision was on Brian Ng in the small blind.

Ng went into the tank for several minutes, leaning over the table before finally flicking in a green 25,000 chip to call. Yankov turned over {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a flush as Ng showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}.

"You called me with king-six," a frustrated Ng said after the hand while Yankov quietly stacked the chips.

Toh Stubs Deeb Early

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Shaun Deeb opened from under the gun to 600. Alex Toh three-bet on his left up to 1,800. One player between the two called in late position. Back on Deeb, he four-bet to 8,000.

Toh thought for about a minute before putting in 16,000 for the five-bet.

The late position player folded. Deeb looked at his cards one last time and tossed them one at a time into the muck.

Lonergan Forces Out Negreanu

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Daniel Negreanu, going with a Jack Hughes New Jersey Devils jersey today, opened the action with a raise to 500 from the cutoff as Ryan Lonergan defended the big blind.

The flop came {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Lonergan checked over to Negreanu, who threw in a bet of 1,000. Lonergan came back with a raise to 3,000 and Negreanu called.

Lonergan bet another 3,000 on the {4-Hearts} and Negreanu stuck around to see the {6-Diamonds} river. Lonergan this time bet 6,000 and Negreanu quickly folded.

Notables in the Silver Section

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Johan Guilbert, who also goes by "YoH ViraL" and finished second in the 2021 WSOP Europe Main Event, is in the building on Day 1c.

Also appearing is Porto and Serbia international soccer star Marko Grujic, who featured at Liverpool from 2016 to 2021.

Grujic is no stranger to the WSOP and went deep in this year's $1,500 Millionaire Maker, finishing 51st for $23,929.

Early Confrontation for Romero

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

According to the table, James Romero raised in the hijack to 600 and Chase Turnquest three-bet to 3,600 on the button before Romero made a four-bet for 7,600. Turnquest shoved for his last 32,000 and Romero snap-called.

Turnquest revealed {k-}{k-}, but only to see {a-}{a-} in Romero's hand and the a dry board fell to send Turnquest out in the first level of the Main Event.

Brabham Resists Urge to Raise

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The board was double paired {2-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Spades}. Trey Brabham was facing a river bet of 7,000. He thought for a bit and said "I really want to raise but I won't" and just called.

He tabled the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. "You were not getting called," said his opponent, who had {j-}{j-} and Brabham took down the pot.

Clarke Scores Early Knockout

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action started when Patrick Clarke opened the cutoff to 600. The small blind three-bet to 3,800 and Michael Stokey elected to four-bet from the big blind to 12,000. Clarke decided on a five-bet to 30,000 and only Stokey made the call.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Stokey quickly moved all in for his last 16,400. Clarke snap-called and the cards were rolled over.

Stokey ran into the top set of Clarke and when the board ran out {2-Clubs} turn {j-Spades} river, Clarke was awarded the knockout and an early big stack.

Walkin Chips Up

Ryan Walkin raised to 800 in early position, he received a call from Daniel Wellborn in the small blind and the big blind came along as well.

The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades} and it was checked around.

A {2-Diamonds} showed up on the turn and Wellborn fired out 1,500. The big blind folded and the original preflop raiser, Walkin, stuck around to see the river.

On the river was a {2-Spades} and Wellborn checked to Walkin who bet 2,500. Wellborn folded and Walkin took down the pot without having to show.
