Mateo Takes From Lonis With Set

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Three players went to the turn as the board read {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. The cutoff bet 2,000, Ricardo Mateo called under the gun. Jesse Lonis also called from middle position.

The {3-Spades} came on the river. Lonis bet 2,200 after a check, the cutoff folded and Mateo called.

Lonis tabled the {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} but that was beaten by the {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} of Mateo.

Conrad Simpson

Three players saw a turn of {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and all three checked to the {7-Diamonds} river. The action checked to Conrad Simpson on the button once more before he fired out a pot-sized bet of 6,200.

The first player who checked quickly folded but the second took a few moments.

"Feels like you don't have it," said Simpson's opponent.

A few more seconds went by before he mucked his hand and Simpson quickly shoved his cards into the muck.

Straight for Schubert

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

With a board of {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} showing, Melissa Shubert was first to act and tossed out a bet of 2,000. Her opponent, Jerry Thurmon in the hijack made the call to see a river.

A {9-Diamonds} showed up and Shubert checked to Thurmon who also decided to check. Schubert flipped over {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} to show the gutshot straight draw that she hit on the river and it was good to take down the pot.

Manig Loeser opened to 700 from middle position and faced a three-bet to 2,800 out of the big blind. Loeser made the call to play a pot heads-up.

The big blind continued for 2,200 on a flop of {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Loeser wasted little time in getting rid of his hand. The German pro is looking to continue a successful summer after taking down WSOP Online Event No-Limit Hold'em BIG $500 for $127,153 and his second online gold bracelet in as many years earlier this series.

Two Pair No Good for Moneymaker

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Action was caught on the {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} board with 4,700 in the pot. Chris Moneymaker bet 1,300 from the big blind and was called by a player in middle position.

"Two pair," announced to 2003 Main Event Champion as he tabled his {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. His opponent then turned over his {10-}{10-} for a set and he then scooped the pot.

"I would have won that hand if PokerNews wasn't here," added Moneymaker.

Jaros' Set Good for Big Pot

Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Action was picked up with 22,400 already in the pot and a complete board of {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} on the felt.

Patrik Jaros, the big blind, fired for 15,400 into two opponents. The first, in late position, made the call quickly. The other, the hijack, went into the tank for a minute or so, before making the call as well. Jaros showed them the bad news as he turned over {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a set of sevens. Both opponents mucked their hands, giving the pot to Jaros.
