Aces Versus Kings for Thompson

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

All the chips went in the middle preflop between Richard Martell, at risk with a short stack and {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} in his hands and against Gary Thompson who held nothing less than {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

Martell didn't find any miracle throughout the board {j-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Thompson added the pot to his stack.

Kenney Loses A Pot And Top Spot

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

A player opened to 9,000 from under the gun and was called by a player in middle position as well as Bryn Kenney in the cutoff.

The flop came {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and the under the gun player continued for 13,000, prompting folds from both of his opponents. Kenney tossed {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} face up into the muck, saying "not the best of flops". Incidentally, Justin Bonomo has just finished in 3rd place in an Aria $10,000 high roller for $88,000, meaning that, for the time being, he has reclaimed the top spot on the all time money list from Kenney.

Filatov Fires Turn; Shak Chips Up

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Anatoly Filatov opened to 8,000 from early position before Jaret Villarreal three-bet to 22,000 from the hijack. Filatov called.

The {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop checked through to the {6-Hearts} turn. Filatov bet 33,000 and Villarreal quickly mucked.

As the hand played, Dan Shak was seen raking in chips after he caught a tablemate bluffing. Shak's {a-}{10-} was good enough for top pair while his opponent had {8-}{5-} for a missed straight draw.

Bacon Busts to Smiljkovic

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Gina Bacon
Gina Bacon

Gina Bacon was already all-in before the {k-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop on which Daniel Smiljkovic bet and forced a fold from the third player in the hand.

Gina Bacon: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Daniel Smiljkovic: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The {q-Diamonds} turn gave Bacon more outs with the broadway draw but the {8-Hearts} river only improved Smiljkovic to trips eights.

Vasquez Adds To his Stack

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

In a pot with three players involved and {8-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} already on the board, it was checked to Andres Vasquez on the button who bet 21,000 and only the small blind made the call.

The river was the {j-Clubs} and both checked. Marquez revealed {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} and it was enough to win the pot.

Boyd Folds a Set

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Ramon Colullas
Ramon Colullas

Action was caught on the {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{a-Spades} completed board with just over 100,000 in the pot. Ramon Colillas bet 75,000 from under the gun and Carlos Boyd went deep into the tank.

After taking several minutes to make his decision, Boyd open-folded his {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} to show the PokerStars Ambassador that he had a set of nines. Colillas did not return the favor but instead raked in the pot.

Hey Shows River Moves In Four-Way Pot

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Conrad Simpson opened to 8,000 from under the gun and found three callers, a middle position player, Caio Hey on the button, and Jordan Russell in the big blind.

The flop showed up {j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. Simpson continued for 8,000 and all three players called the flop bet.

The {6-Clubs} showed up on the turn. Action checked all the way to Hey on the button who bet 28,000. Again, all three players called. They were headed to a river four ways with nearly 200,000 in the pot.

The river fell the {8-Clubs}, completing the backdoor flush draw. Russell and Simpson checked, but the middle position player bet 65,000. Over to Hey, he assembled a large bet, and slid out 220,000 into the pot.

Russell agonized, but folded. Simpson thought for a bit, but also folded. The middle-position player thought for about 90 seconds, and also let his cards go.

Hey proudly flashed the {k-Spades} for the table to see.

"What the? What just happened?" said Simpson.

"Ace of clubs," said a tablemate.

"Yeah, it has to be the ace of clubs, this is wild," said Simpson.

Hey scooped the massive pot with his big move on the river.

Party Like its 2021; Kniep and Onikoul Share 2021 Main Event Memories

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Andreas Kniep
Andreas Kniep

Andreas Kniep and Arkadi Onikoul were spotted at the same table after Kniep had just chopped up a big pot with an opponent both making two pair with ace-king.

Those who are fans of the WSOP Main Event will recall that both players made a very deep run in the 2021 Main Event. But these two share more than that as were involved in one of the defining hands of Day 7 when Onikoul spiked a king to crack Kniep's aces which gave Onikoul a huge stack and cut Kniep down short. Had Kniep's aces held he would have been the overwhelming chip leader at that point in the tournament and likely would have ridden it to at least the final table. As it turned out, Kniep ended up finishing in 18th place while Onikoul used that huge hand to finish in 12th before himself succumbing in a huge hand vs eventual champion Koray Aldemir.

Gerhart Busts in Huge Pot

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Kevin Gerhart
Kevin Gerhart

Action was caught on the {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop with around 105,000 in the pot.

Michael Rocco bet 70,000 from the big blind and was called by Kevin Gerhart on the button. Rocco sized up to 160,000 on the {3-Spades} turn and again was called.

The aggressor then put Gerhart to the test by moving all in as the covering stack on the {4-Hearts} river. Gerhart, with around 270,000 behind, counted out his chips and continued to think over the hand before making his decision.

In the end, Gerhart called and was shown the bad news as Rocco tabled his {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} while Gerhart had pocket tens. He passed his stack to his opponent and wished the table luck on his departure.

Allen Scores Knockout with Full House

Niveau 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Action was joined with around 30,000 in the pot and a flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds} having been dealt.

After a bet of 14,000 from middle position, Robert Allen raised to 45,000. Action then landed on the big blind, who moved all in for around 100,000. The middle position player got out of the way before Allen made the call, with his opponent just slightly covered.

Opponent: {9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Robert Allen: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

The opponent had managed to flop top two pair, but was still behind to Allen's set. The {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} runout improved Allen to a full house, more than enough to score the knockout and scoop the pot, sending his opponent to the rail.
